I think this book is the link from the beginners box and the core book its to help people catch up with players who have been playing since 3.5 days. I bought the 4E Strategy Guide and it was... interesting. It was fascinating to me to see what the designers decided were common playstyles and typical player actions. Some of it was right on point and some was alien to my group. In the end, it was definitely entertaining reading. I expect this will entertain me as well. Wise words. My experience with official optimization guides is that they're not really very optimized at all - its more a guide to avoid pitfalls. Very basic stuff. If they have merit at all, it is in establishing a "bottom tier" - you have to be this good or better. They also disclose many of the company group's playstyles and notions of what goes into the game - which often directly contradicts rules as written. I am not going to by this, but if I played in Pathfinder Society or was a beginner, I think it could have...

I think this book is the link from the beginners box and the core book its to help people catch up with players who have been playing since 3.5 days. And yes Paizo produces a large amount of books (they are a publishing company and thats how they make money) but when you look at rules new classes and that sort of thing for the Core Pathfinder Game its not nearly as bad as WOTC. Alot of what they print is for Golarion and the Adventure Paths. Just my 2 cents This. I wholeheartedly agree that this book looks like a great bridge from the Paizo Beginner Game to the Core game or as a crutch for otherwise new players to get them going if joining a much more experienced group. The bits I've seen from the book in the preview do remind me quite a bit of the beginner game rulebooks. I wasn't planning on picking this book up, but now I think I might in order to have for new players down the road. As for the amount of rules/books in Pathfinder compared to 3.0/3.5, when I look at my bookshelves th...

I agree with the PAWNS I got rid of my huge plastic mini collection and moved over to Pawns im very happy with the change Way Cheaper Look Great Lot less storage space I'm considering doing this myself...although I'll probably still use actual minis for the PCs and use PAWNS for all monsters.

So my wife wants me to find gamers at least one of two that also have young children like we do so on some of the game nights they can bring over their wives and children I think this is cool and fair, I enjoy gaming with people who I am friends with out side of gaming until recently that's how I usually gamed. Moving cost me my past game groups. How do you go about finding other gamers with young kids or does that cause people to give up on gaming in person for the time being? Or do I have to find friends and convert them to playing RPGs? Either of these options could work. I got lucky in that a lot of gamers I knew and was connected to are about my age and we were all starting families around the same time. So a few of us get together and play a weekly game (currently Pathfinder) - and we're still going more than a dozen years later. The kids play together (or I guess 'hang out' is a little more in keeping with the teens rather than 'playing') while we adults play toge...
