I AM NOT A GENERAL, BUT EVEN I KNOW A COORDINATED ATTACK IS BETTER THAN RUNNING IN ONE AT A TIME." Sylvar gives Respen a hard stare, then a smile...then offers him his hand. As the party continues to fight, things seem to slow down, almost to a crawl, creating an almost dream-like state. Nothing about what is happening seems real... and then, suddenly, everyone realizes that it isn't. The deaths of the other party members are equally spectacular, compared to the ones who have already fallen. The twins are torn apart while trying to protect Duncan; Tam and Damaara...

Maka will attempt to knock his beetle to the ground, and if he can do so, he will follow up with a kick, akin to that of a field goal kicker, trying to score an extra point. The airborne beetle reacts faster than Maka, clacking at him with its mandibles. ...he summons Turtle to her side. Already low to the ground from her previous strategic knife cut, Bolo leans backward into a tuck roll to remover herself from melee, sending a signal to Turtle to follow, simultaneously. It will take 100 tics, or 1 full second for Bolo to roll back to her feet and begin moving away. The completion of the roll will have moved her 1 full space from the melee engagement. It will take her another 50 tics or half a second to retrieve her bow followed by 2 seconds to draw and fire it. Turtle shakes the dirt off his face from his failed attack and intends to lumber over to stand near Bolo to protect her from other possible attackers and serve as a reserve fighter. Turtle senses Bolo's intentions even before he begins to shake the dirt from his face. He presses his weight onto his back feet propelling himself forward and left to stay clear of the melee and not hinder Indigo. He will reach Bolo's side as she begins to draw her bow. No action has completed, yet. @Sylvar B. Saemund reacts next.

Sylvar B. Meanwhile back in the Outpost, Adisakti finished his morning duty of cleaning one of the brewer vats only to discover that his friends had departed on an expedition without him. Knowing that Vittero and Taylar were both prone to impetuous action, he did not become angry but instead sought to learn whence they had gone. @Tellerian Hawke & @Kwargrow & @Sylvar B. I figure y'all will be going with the same characters but if you wish to replace any to try something new, let me know. That is acceptable. Due to her Academic rank, Bolo can actively control 2 companions, if she wishes to add one. Merin can only control one, but he may dismiss Myth and look for another, if he so chooses. @Aust Thale If RL slows some where you wish to pick up again with us, I will update your characters to the appropriate level, or you can choose to try something new. @tglassy This particular PbP relies much more on writing and expressing ideas than technicality. As you have expressed an interest in the past, I wanted to invite you to join in ACT II of the The Untamed Wilds campaign. I think your ability to convey your thoughts would be an asset to the entertainment value of the game.

Merin, you could leave Myth here as well. They animals should fare better all together." The Seekers land plot is east of the road along the stream, on the outside of the corn grist mill. Though many tall trees still populate the town, all undergrowth has been cleared from the main area making travel easier in any direction. Making way to the road, traveling north, past the Boar's Head and some cabins, brings the Seekers to the Trade Store and residence of Giodavi and Lyndha. Adi ... "We could head for the coast..." Vittero nods, mostly to himself. "That is a sound plan. From there if we follow it south we should reach one of the fishing villages long before Thisidaboga." "Coast? What coast?" Raven Elk asks... "I think that I saw the coastline to the west of us..." ... Taylar nods and says, "Ok, let's go to the coast." Vittero hollers, "Maka! Come on." If the coastline is just over the horizon, the group estimates that it will take a little over three hours at an easy pace. The trees sway in the constant breeze and the air occasionally feels cooler, as the season is changing. There are not as many songbirds in the pines as there are in other types of vegetation, but rodents within the canopy periodically make a noisy fuss. After walking for about an hour in an approximate, westerly direction, the party gets the distinct impression that something is following them at an even pace, just out of sight, farther to the north.

Adi climbs the nearest tree with any height and takes a look in every direction. The towering pines are difficult to climb, and Adisakti is forced to fold a rope and throw it around the trunk, pulling back on it to hold himself to the tree. He then walks his feet up using the force of his hand to hold himself in position, He then relaxes and pulses the rope, pulling back on it quickly before he falls. He continues this arduous process until he reaches the first limbs, high above. Scaling quickly through the branches, Adisakti finds that upper reaches of the trees sway in a synchronized rhythm with the constant breeze. From his vantage point some 10 paces or more above the ground, it appears that the coastline is not too far distant to the west. The trees do not appear to be thinning in any other direction. After some time, Adisakti is also able to observe some animal activity in the canopy and on the ground. Varmints and birds move about the canopy, but it is most definitely larger animals abo...

As soon as part of his body breeches the surface of the image on the wall, Adisakti, disappointingly, finds that all of him is standing in the same new location with Maka, Vittero, and Taylar, albeit, standing in an awkward position. Vittero looks at Adi and crinkles his brow. "You were trying one of your stunts... It must not have gone as planed. Hopefully Raven Elk comes along. The image of the ocean that was upon the forward wall is replaced with the identical image that is still viewable upon the right wall. A pattern of illumination chases across the design on the floor. Having watched all the preceding images, Vittero offers, "The images must be certain fixed locations, something designed from both ends by the Yahdram, long ago. I doubt that it is our words that are triggering the changes. Our words will be different than those of the Yahdram. Adi walks up to one of the glowing blue walls and feels for what type of way might be causing them to glow blue. Adisakti walks across a very intricate floor design as he heads for one of the walls. The wall where the hall attaches is the only one not glowing. It stands to reason that the swirling blue light would be caused by the manipulation of electromagnetic Way, but this particular weave is currently far beyond his ability to analyze. Vittero moves to another wall and begins to do the same thing, then steps back to see if he can make any sense of the floor design. With his baton casually propped on his shoulder Taylar strolls into the room and retrieves his light stone. He looks around the place and says, "You know what I would like to find in this room? A nice conversation." The light of each wall moves, ever so slightly, as Taylar speaks, paling a bit in places the look like high clouds drifting across the sky. Adisakti lets the others know about the missing triangle key, and begins searching for it. It occurs to him that the triangle would probably effect Way lines, in some manner, so he puts his hands on the stone floor of the landing and manipulates sonic way on the surface of the stones, "feeling" for any resistance or echo to the movement of the generated wave. As it happens, Adisakti's idea works too well. His first sonic wave gently pulses outward in circular wave from the radial point of his placed hand. The wave then reverberates from every piece of debris, including leaves, and the other members of the crew. Realizing what he is trying to do, Vittero motions for the others to join him on the steps so that they will not interfere with Adi's echo. For his part, Adisakti decides to increase the power of his pulse so that it will ignore light debris like leaves. The plan works exactly as planned, but the key is not discovered. Vittero offers an idea. "That first keep we investigated was a...

Vittero responds, "I cannot see any potential benevolence of those muddling birds, but I am for further investigation. It will also be easier to prepare these Fishers up on the flat porch area." Taylar will collect the three fishers, putting any injured ones out of their misery. Seeing no point in killing a fleeing animal with questionable use as a source if food, and unknown assistance in way manipulation, Adi decides to let it go. The injured Fisher scrambles back over the small rise and disappears over the other side seeming to veer to its right as it does so. The other two Fishers lie where they were subdued. Vittero comments, "That was easier than expected, although we may still have a problem if we decide to investigate where these things were holed up. With Raven Elk remaining on the platform, Adisakti is able to move down the stairs and make his way over to the cliff facing from its bottom edge. Adi notices the broken bones of several animals and what is very likely the stains of old remains. After a few seconds of searching, he finds the bird. It is not much for meat, seemingly all bones and feathers, but there are three particular strange, tail feathers, called ailephs, that captivate Adi's attention. He "feels" the door to find if it is imbued with way lines like the portals. He also examines the markings. In a few moments of examination, while sliding the tips of his fingers over the etched design, Adisakti confirms his suspicion that Way Lines have been altered with regard to the door. As Sylvar retreats from his conversation with Margull he pulls the others aside and tells them what he knows about him. Respen recalls seeing bits and pieces of the lore Sylvar is disclosing in one of the books Respen collected for Dame Clare. A side piece that, given Sylvar's explanation, was less legend than Respen thought. ~ Even more of a reason for Margull to plant himself here. He places the entire region at risk as he chases these other "Vampyr". ~ " Sylvar, we tempt fate planning in these trees. Perhaps one day, but as my original mentor would say, 'Mortals and immortals can not occupy the same space; mortals have too much to lose, and immortals have experienced so much loss that they are numb to it.' It's funny that I never took the warning seriously until my experience with Dame Clare. Now, despite Margull's stated intentions as well as the company he keeps, I've never held the words in such high esteem. The less time I spend around Margull, the better off I will feel. ...
