    Didn't they already explain this? Sort of? IIRC, Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, and Dragonlance are all in the Great Wheel as normal crystal spheres in the Material Plane. Eberron meanwhile is isolated in its own pocket dimension; it's crystal sphere cuts it off from everything except the Deep Ethereal, and its Orrery of 13 planes is contained within. No clue for Mystara though. Mystara was stand alone until 2nd edition in the 90's. A dragon magazine put it in Spelljammer but it's Crystal Sphere has two major differences. It's a void so a ship's air bleeds out quickly. It's also very cold so you need to adjust for that.     No clue for Mystara though. Mystara exists in a completely separate multiverse where "Crystal Spheres" don't exist and an infinite number of Outer Planes do exist. Mystara exists in a solar system similar to our own, in a galaxy that may be the Milky Way because Mystara is very likely an Alternate Earth in a very Old School sense. The only way to travel between Mystara and what were once known as the "AD&D Worlds" is via a "reality shift" - a powerful magical effect that alters the very fabric of space and time and allows elves, dwarves and halflings to have character classes (unless the DM says otherwise, in which case it works however the DM says it does). Citations - The D&D Immortal Set and "Up, Away, and Beyond" in Dragon 160 by Bruce Heard. Of course, later Mystara became an "AD&D World" itself and Mystaran characters showed up in Planescape and Ravenloft supplements, but that's how I continue to play it when I use Mystara. What Mearls is saying is that they have a through Bible worked out for this to keep official releases coherent, but have no plans to push the Bible as a wholesale product, or even put it all out there as definitive.

    I don't think PF2 is under OGL. Well, the playtest was, so it would be really weird (and possibly legally indefensible- though IANAL) if the final rules weren't OGL. Plus it would be a dumb move on their part. Wizard's attempt to roll back the OGL when they released 4e was a dumb move on their part, and would be even dumber for Paizo, who needs community goodwill far more than Hasbro does to survive.

That's not really how D&D works, though: all sorts of rules are designed for flexible implementation by the DM (stealth, for instance). That's the nature of the beast. The Class write up says that Druids won't wear metal armor: Sage Advice reveals that there is no combat balance concern, and a given DM gets to decide on what to do about it. This is just an inherent part of the 5E philosophy, and it has worked well for years. Also, it isn't threadcrapping to disagree with the thesis of the OP: that's a discussion.

Mockery of this post aside, this is not true. Especially for a game with the specific design goal of rulings over rules and where a huge portion of the game revolves around lore and fluff. AKA: role-playing. In fact, in a game like D&D where there are literally no limitations to a person's imagination or what scenarios may come up, it is better design to give guidelines and let the DM (and lesser extent table) decide who to implement them. Having a tantrum and insulting other people won't resolve anything except maybe to get you yet another mod warning.

    What does this mean? What is a traditional D&D Cleric? Hitting stuff with a blunt implement? The Traditional Cleric: Stood at the back of the party, to be an armored rear guard and keep an eye on the Thief. Used most of his spells for healing. Maced the occasional orc. Wished he had ranged weapons, anything better than a thrown hammer would be lovely. Turned Undead, saving the party's bacon in encounters with way too many undead for the party to handle any other way - which was every encounter with Undead. On rare, rare, occasions, collected a Girdle of Giant Strength, Gauntlets of Ogre Power, and Hammer of Thunderbolts and really gave the fighter a run for his money. And the 5e Cleric doesn't do that, because he's a little too good to be doing that.

I assume he is referring to earlier editions, when a cleric was a healbot with a mace. Most of your time was spent pumping hit points into your companions. On the rare occasion that your companions didn't need hit points, you bopped things with the mace. If you wanted to be edgy and different, you could swap out the mace for a warhammer. (But not an axe. Axes were not cool. The gods frowned upon axes. Even the dwarf gods.)

    I'm talking Spores Druids specifically here. Halo of Spores Starting at 2nd level, you are surrounded by invisible, necrotic spores that are harmless until you unleash them on a creature nearby.     Heavy Armour Clerics and Medium Armour Bards have been in the game for a while now so you're kind of late to the party there. But while Moon Druids can use their animal forms for combat, and the other Druid Circles can stay in the backline, Druids of the Circle of Spores, more than anybody else, need that extra AC. Their subclass features all but outright state that they're meant to be kn the front lines like a War Cleric or a Swords Bard or a Bladesinger Wizard, but the only things they get to increase their survivability are 4 temp HP per level and critical hit immunity at Level 14. The Temp HP I guess gets better when you have more of I, but at lower levels, assuming a standard array or point buy build, they're only gonna have 14 Ac with studded leather, 16 with sl and a shield. They're gonna get chewed up pretty quick if they brawl on the front, but they can't use their Halo of Spores or their Fungal Infestation if they aren't on the front, which is where a lot of their combat power comes from...

    matsifYesterday at 11:19 AM the metal stuff for druids should be ignored. the celts were great bronze workers and the druid is mostly based on them, the whole "no metal" thing is silly at best. ...snip a bunch of quotes from somewhere... Not to be too obvious, but: Why is it that there are, largely, two groups of people in this debate. The first sees the druid restriction, understands it for what it is, and are like, "Okay, cool, if other people disagree with it, then they can just houserule it." The second attempts to make various arguments that UNLESS the rule is perfect, then THE RULE DOESN'T APPLY. Now, notice how these individuals (you are one of them) doesn't do the following- State that the rule is poorly implemented, and therefor propose a solution to implement it, such as: "If a druid attempts to wear metal armor, or use a metal shield, then he or she shall lose the ability to cast any druid spells; such loss is complete the instant the action is taken to wear metal armor or use a metal shield.
