Scott Graves - if you've not looked at Storm King's Thunder, the second half slots in beautifully to the overall ToD campaign and helps explain why the giants are sitting out the plot. The chromatic dragons have neutralized the giants by abducting the king and effectively distracting them as they start infighting over who should lead. It's much more entertaining than some of the weaker (IMO) chapters in RoT. And Blagothkus provides a great connection point.

  • 11:19 PM - Sadras mentioned Scott Graves in post All the other kings said I was daft to build a castle in a swamp.
There is a dragon in that swamp, you know....opportunity for 'bad things' to happen. SPOILER! A pair of dragons. Scott Graves if you're looking for a side quest other than the obvious, one of the random encounters in the Mere of the Dead Men includes a Yuan-ti Hunting Party seeking suitable victims to sacrifice to their long-slumbering deity. You could build on their existence within the Mere. Perhaps the lizardfolk don't dare venture deep within the Mere due to the return of the Penanggalan, a rather exotic undead. (Supposedly exist in the Mere according to the wiki). Build on the fact that this type of creature possesses several lairs...each one with its own physical challenges (sunken water-clogged mausoleum, the hollowed out corpse of a huge shambling mound, a spire-formation within a crocodile infested river, an area of enchanted quicksand that leads to an underground dungeon..etc) Another option, a hunting party of lizardfolk find one of the dreaded Rings of Myrkul in the belly of a crocodile which had been lost within the swamp...one of the lizardmen place the ring on their finger and become possess...

That isn't helpful. The Newcomers in Alien Nation had a cool set up where the male impregnated the female in much the normal way, but only during a certain time of year (They had a cool insult which translates to "you mate out of season") because they are very ritual based. But at one point the male starts to develop a pouch and in yet another real cool ceremony they then transfer the infant from the female to the male pouch in which it resides for the other half of the gestation period. It is a way cool deal and it only takes two genders. So when I ask "how do they do it" I am genuinely curious about the methodology.About the newcomers - they had three sexes. There was a third who got involved in the "mechanics" when a couple wanted to reproduce. Their inclusion change it from a form of recreation to procreation and they were honored. I adapted this (and borrowed from other scifi) with my own runs at tri-genders by having the third gender be the one who carried the child. Again, their inclusion ...

Comedians want to make stuff funny and get a laugh every 10 to 15 seconds. If they aren't getting the laughs then they aren't doing their job. Many will rape the corpse of their dead mother for material if that's what it takes. The fact that it wasn't a good representation of D&D is nothing. I cringe every time a movie or TV show goes into a bit where people are playing some kind of role playing fantasy game that has initials like T&R so they can avoid being sued. The only one I saw that was any good was on the IT Crowd. They kept at least the spirit intact. Moss as DM was to die for.Beautiful Anonymous isn't a comedy podcast. Try again.

So how many innocent men are you willing to destroy to insure not a single guilty man goes free? I want this damn answer from those supporting destroying this man on public media with only Twitter based evidence. How many innocent men are you willing to condemn and possibly imprison where they are likely to be raped so no guilty men go free. Just give me a number. I’ll flip the question; how many women and girls are you willing to condemn to a lifetime of trauma from sexual harassment and violence before you’re willing to admit that maybe something, anything should be done about it?

it is 2:30 AM and I'm a tad drunk. Had to wind down after getting harassed by the police while subbing a paper route for another carrier. Some old lady called in that I looked suspicious walking around with a big bag that says the newspaper name placing plastic wrapped papers on door steps. I guess she thought I was a terrorist. Let's not get drunk and post political rants on EN World at 2.30am, hmmm?

Does it matter what the truth is now? That guy who created the Nerdist got hit with allegations and it never even hit a court room. He lost the panel he did at a major convention and was removed from his own show. All over allegations made on Twitter. Eventually he got it straitened out when a half dozen women who knew him well countered the allegations and he was partially restored to his previous status but the stigma is still there. His life has been forever changed by the court of public opinion. So unless this guy has lots of good friends ready to take the fight to Twitter and get his reputation restored he's pretty much toxic waste that no media will touch with a ten foot pole. Let’s cool it with the himpathy. Men have been :):):):):):):)s to women for millennia and now we get some pushback it’s “oh no, his life is ruined”. I know too many women whose lives have been damaged by sexual assault/harassment, my daughter not least among them. Just because a guy is nice to some women doesn’t ...

We did the math too. I was reading the article to my son (and going into grammar German party in control during WWII through much of it) and he's a serious math geek. He said "Five kids per parent?" He knows how much of a pain in the butt he was all by his lonesome as an only child. Imagine having 29 whatever you call young siblings with all those genders. Imagine the diapers alone... ALL AT ONCE! Terrible Two's all at once. Egad, they'd best be the most mellow people in the universe or else there would be a WHOLE LOT of REALLY late term abortions if you take my meaning. We figured no one with children invented that race. Unless they had masochistic tendencies. Man they are build around a group mentality were everyone works for all, they hate being alone and are kind of fearful of it as they honestly have never been so. Even the one gender they treat badly they would never just turn it away to be alone it's not in their nature. I did it this way for a reason which will be documented at a lat...
  • 09:45 AM - Radaceus quoted Scott Graves in post Firearms
Bringing in firearms to a fantasy setting is something you need to think about. With the weight limits being what they are a person could carry four pistols, all loaded and ready to go. If they had the Dual Weapon feat they could draw two and fire them on round one, draw two more and fire them on round two then on round three pull a sword and dagger for melee, that assumes the charging target survives the fusillade of lead balls. Carrying four heavy crossbows to replicate that kind of action would be rather challenging. Remember, muskets were notoriously inaccurate. That's why they were fired by a line of men at another line of men. The muskets weren't even really aimed, just pointed in the right direction. Rifling is what made the ball fly straighter and more accurately. A single man with a musket is more of a threat to himself from a simple Firebolt cantrip than the mage he is aiming at. The typical Musketeer had I believe something between ten and twenty prepped charges. An even dozen come...

You bring up the "metoo" movement and make it out to be a positive thing. That's getting political because it has become a political tool used by one side of the political spectrum that shall go unnamed for now. I will go no further because I've already been tagged by mods for taking things to places they aren't supposed to go. The #metoo movement is entirely about illustrating how rampant sexual harassment/assault is by having victims come forward, to bring awareness of it, and to try to stop it. That is a positive thing, right? I mean, can't we all agree that stopping sexual assault is a good thing? This shouldn't be political, as everyone, regardless of political persuasion, should agree that harassment and assault are bad. The fact that it's only been supported by one political side speaks volumes about the other, I'd think.

Holy :):):):) when did this thread turn into an Evangelical sermon? bunch of stuff I don't care to quote You guys advocate for that, and it sounds like a nice ideal pn that, but it's just a pipe dream, and in the process of chasing that dream all you're really advocating for is the restriction of personal rights and liberties. Like, move over Harmonium, there's a new Lawful Neutral tyrant in town. You bring up the "metoo" movement and make it out to be a positive thing. That's getting political because it has become a political tool used by one side of the political spectrum that shall go unnamed for now. I will go no further because I've already been tagged by mods for taking things to places they aren't supposed to go. Generally when you're in teouble for doing a thing, lampshading how you're not supposed to do the thing isn't that much better than actually doing the thing. But now that you've mentioned it, it's a crying shame that a movement that gives the undertrodden and abuse...

I think you are wandering into the political here because not everyone is going to agree with you on your points and I think personally that the internet is magnifying problems well out of proportion to reality. Your post is a fine example of how that happens. Just because people disagree with someone doesn't mean they've wandered into the political. This is a moral issue, not a political one.

How exactly does that work. Please explain as if you were talking to a young child to keep this PG. Don't want this to turn into soft core after all. There is nothing pornographic about an alien race having more complex sexual dimorphism than humans.

There's a lot of this adventure that doesn't make sense. Some massaging is helpful, yes. Have you checked out the "Enhancing" threads for HotDQ and Rise of Tiamat? They have tons of suggestions on how to handle tricky bits: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?394128-Enhancing-quot-Hoard-of-the-Dragon-Queen-quot-(Practical-stuff-to-try-at-your-table!) http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?394129-Enhancing-quot-Rise-of-Tiamat-quot-(Practical-stuff-to-try-at-your-table!) "Follow the treasure" is the mission. That's what they are doing. But since no actual speed is given for the castle, only "The wyverns can catch up because the castle is slow", it makes sense to "follow the treasure" not suddenly turn around and blow up the castle. You could point out that the castle flies all day and all night, and the wyverns can't do that; they are going to get tired at some point. Finding a safe place to land in the castle would be the logical course of action. And then maybe letting your pl...

But since no actual speed is given for the castle, only "The wyverns can catch up because the castle is slow", it makes sense to "follow the treasure" not suddenly turn around and blow up the castle. Why would anyone except a crew of murder hobos turn around and decide to kill everyone. I’ve learned that the adventures work much better when you devise your own connecting story for the events. WotC seems to have no feel for story (or they just tack some stuff on the end and hope no one notices...) Also I was looking on the map to plot out another pickup point that would be good for an adventure. Greenest, the start of the adventure and where the enemy base was near, is maybe 200 miles from the freaking Well of Dragons. They go the WAY long way around to drop off that treasure... Things like that make me wonder what drugs the guys who came up with this adventure were on...
