Hey, aco. Thanks for the comment! I see your point. That 3rd path decision is a big moment, so I should probably flesh out the pros and cons of the player's options a little more. Makes sense.

Hey, guys! I'm back. Hope everyone is having a good week. Anywho, I've published a new D&D article. This time around, I have some tips and tricks for how to be a better dungeon master. If you guys could provide me with some feedback or additional tips, I would greatly appreciate the constructive criticism. Have a good day, everybody! https://www.gametruth.com/guides/10-tips-to-being-a-better-dungeon-master-a-dungeons-and-dragons-guide/It's a good, comprehensive list. I myself am a novice DM who has already followed a few of these tips, and they really have helped me. I agree completely that talking to your players up front about expectations is very important. But I also think it's important for a DM (as he/she gets more experience) to learn what kinds of adventures he/she likes to run because if you're into it and genuinely engaged in what's happening, your players will notice and enjoy it more. There's a balance to be found here for each party to be sure.

Have a good day, everybody! https://www.gametruth.com/guides/10-tips-to-being-a-better-dungeon-master-a-dungeons-and-dragons-guide/I like 9.5 of your 10 suggestions. The .5 is the critical fumble. I like the suggestion about making a miss memorable, you should have hit, but by some fluke you missed! But I hate critical fumble rules. You punish characters, particularly melee characters, extra severely, just for doing their thing (and since they're the ones in the thick of it, the fumbles happen to them the most). Take hopping on one foot, as a result of stubbing your toe. Does that mean disadvantage on attacks? You've just hamstrung the fighter's effectiveness until he recovers. This is...

  • 03:36 AM - MoonSong quoted SomthinClever in post How to Start Playing Dungeons & Dragons (5th Edition) Without Breaking the Bank – A Beginner’s Guide
Hey, guys. I have humbly published a guide on how to get started in D&D while on a budget. I hope you all enjoy and I wish each of you a pleasant day. https://www.gametruth.com/guides/a-beginners-guide-to-dd5e-how-to-start-playing-without-breaking-the-bank/ This is a cool guide. Just a couple of precisions: Remember to include a link to the free Elemental Evil Player's Guide. That one has cool cantrips and races. Sorcerers can be damage dealers, but that way lies quick resource depletion and nova damage. Another -better (IMO)-way to play them is focusing on buffing/debuffing. They are the only full caster proficient at Concentration saves and the only ones with a way around the normal Concentration limits -Twin spell-. They can get higher hp and ac from Dragon Magic or access to more buffs from Divine Soul, or access to lots of advantage through Wild Magic, to mobility and battlefield control through Storm Magic or Shadow Magic.

As this was a combat focused guide, non-combat utility certainly took a back seat. I think you are correct concerning your comment. This build will more well serve dungeon delving, non-role playing fans of the game. Hi, Just wanted to leave a tip. Try "Reply with Quote" instead of just "Reply" it makes it much easier to see who you comment is specifically directed towards.

  • 04:49 PM - vincegetorix quoted SomthinClever in post For Your Consideration: D&D (5e) How to Build a Warlock for Combat
Hey, guys. I just humbly published one of my first articles ever on D&D. This time, I covered how to min-max a Warlock for combat. I hope you guys enjoy. Thank you all for your time and I wish you each a pleasant day. https://www.gametruth.com/guides/guide-dd-5e-how-to-build-a-warlock/ As it was said to you in your previous ''guides'' posts, you cant have a score lower than 8 at Chargen (unless you roll it, that is) At your Dungeon Master's option, you can use this variant for determining your ability scores. The method described here allows you to build a character with a set of ability scores you choose individually. You have 27 points to spend on your ability scores. Using this method, 15 is the highest ability score you can end up with, before applying racial increases. Vou can't have a score lower than 8. PHB p.13
