Goodman Games 1st supplement for "Into the Borderlands" is a set of 5E Pre-Generated Characters, which can be found by clicking a link on this page here: http://goodman-games.com/blog/2018/04/27/pregen-characters-for-into-the-borderlands/Cool Easter egg; eight of the pregens are the NPC henchmen from Return to the Keep on the Borderlands from 2e (Third, Cob, Opal, Martin, Jess, Mouse, Aseneth and Dubricus 'd Amberville). Third and Dubricus are references to B4 and X2, respectively.

Ok, you have you archival clean copy of the original but still you would have the meticulously fixed up version from scratch, then you would have the version with the conversion to the latest edition with brand new content, is how it could be done. Goodman games basically does this but simply do all of the updating in the 5E version is all, that is they skipped on cleaning up the Basic D&D version. I guess I'm just different than you are. I see the above as a huge waste of resources and time.

Yea, I hope to see more as well but really I wish they were not just scans in the first half of the book. Please rebuild them, from the ground up, (restore missing/censored content, fix grammar and spelling errors, Clean up/fix artwork, fix maps etc), in modern desktop publishing apps, like affinity designer, Microsoft publisher or InDesign (if you don't mind throwing your money away to adobe). I'm happy if none of this is done. I'm admittedly a purist. My only noonah would be censored/missing content if you're already doing the conversion. That said, it depends why its been removed in the first place. If there's a copyright issue (Deities and Demigods anyone?) then leave it out. Same with ethics issues. Spelling, maps, grammar - whatever. I already game with a table of players with horrible penmanship and questionable ability to write, they're still great players. I'd argue the module is more alive by showing its blemishes.

But that would take months to do! Oh wait, this one took what? A year? Maybe it was just a part time effort from a single person? Actually, that's partly disingenuous. Even what they did takes a significant amount of time. I too wish it was a true reincarnation, not just a re-print and conversion.

...I've preordered Into the Borderlands, if it doesn't disappoint I anticipate throwing a lot of money at this series if Goodman Games continues it. I hope it's successful. If it does well, it will only help the industry :) I would guess there would be some sort supplement in the works with more information and VTT Maps, tokens, and artwork, which can also be printed out for the players. Don't expect VTT versions. My understanding is that Goodman Games absolutely refuse to license anything they publish to any VTT. I get the impression they are actually hostile to the idea. I hope I'm wrong on that, but memory usually doesn't fail me in these things.

Why not just ditch the cardboard rulers all together and just put in the plastic ones, for instance? Also why not include the deluxe rule book in the base box in the first place? Cost. When you want your retail price point to be $150 you're not doing alt character sculpts, deluxe rule books, unique dice, & fancy rulers as standard pack ins. Those things aren't essential to the game. So you offer those as additional purchases (or enticements for those who pledge) . For $150 you're buying 103 minitures (+ the other bare essentials you need). That's not a bad deal. If it were me running this, there would be no exclusives and every player will have a chance to buy Every Accessory available even after the KickStarter. And they've stated that any exclusive pieces left over after filling pledges will be sold at cons/shows etc. So find out where they're going to be & start planning your 2018 vacations. :)

Ok but how about a list of every single different monster from Original to 5E ?!?!Do you want to include the ones from Dragon Magazine? You know, the early ones that were too weird even for the Fiend Folio :)

Uhmm, well the details are at that link, why waste server HD or SSD space with redundant Info ?!?! Don't worry, I'm not charging you for the server space you use. :) The reason is that I like to have a minimal editorial standard for things which appear on the front page, as they make a first impression. Not that the front page is exactly the NYT or anything, but I try to keep it tidyish with more than just links. Anyhow, since this isn't an announcement or press release, but rather a discussion about an announcement, I'll slip it over to a discussion forum for you.
