Interested! Either runepriest or some kind of non-wizard controller (maybe a witch?) ... I'll let you know...I'll make the char over the weekend. Cheers Also, maybe it would help to call people via mentions... What's this? Stealth recruitment without me?! :) I would play either Drew (at second level) or my dark warlock from Eberron. If I have to create new character, :) I'll let you know tomorrow. LOL! I check the thread daily. What about you guys? As soon as you guys send me something I'll work it in. Let the fun begin. @Tenchuu or @FourMonos Come and join us to fill out the party.

Dimsdale! Renau1g! TwoHeadsBarking! stonegod! Proposal: Let me run a group from lvl 1 to 7 Then, when that time comes, someone like Lord Sessadore or Neurotic take over for a while. To be honest with you, I'm not super knowledgeable with all the effects of spells and powers beyond that level. Lord Sessadore, Neurotic, Neil1889, FourMonos and MetaVoid: You guys are. What is in common with all of us is that we all want to role-play. Let me get us to level 7 with a campaign, then someone else can take the party from there and either continue with a on a thread of what I create, or abandon it altogether. What do ya say?

Vermitrax moves so he stands behind the defenders, but in front of the beast. He focuses his two eyes on central eye of the beholder and after a moment of concentration, his will overcomes the will of the monster which promptly bites down on its own eye waving around. Instinct saves the eye as the tongue pushes out, but it in turn gets nearly severed by savage bite. OOC: I don't know if it attacks itself with CA, but it definitely gets +4 from the power :) Bite away FourMonos :) Move: I 28 Standard: Hypnotism vs Will (Beholder) (1d20+11+2=27) - On hit: Beholder uses a free action to make a melee basic attack against itself, with a +4 power bonus to the attack roll. Minor: sustain grabbing hand (Hand sustain damage (1d8+7=12)) Save: Saving throw vs ongoing (1d20+1=12) - saved HP: 31/58 (after Raiyek healing him for 14 and taking 10 ongoing)

Lerrick's smile disappears as another of the giant orb's eyes locks onto her. Foul magic engulfs the cleric causing her body to become rigid. She then witnesses in horror the paladin attack the necromancer. Oh my...glad it wasn't me. She takes a deep breath, then closes her eyes to focus on breaking free. save vs petrification: 1d20: (waiting for IC to come back :( )

While I would question the purpose behind attacking a dominated ally, I do also realize Vermitrax is evil. From that perspective I have little trouble seeing him attack Raiyek if he perceived Raiyek to be a threat, whether or not it makes sense to do so. Besides, it is kind of funny. [emoji14] Doesn't really matter anyway, the skeleton's attack would miss even with CA. In any case, IC is down and I haven't set myself up on any other rollers yet. @FourMonos, please roll my save if I don't get a chance before everyone else has acted. FourMonos, G1 does NOT have ongoing damage as Drew missed with the charge (unless there was CA involved from druids companions or spells), ongoing comes from Flurry of blows which triggers on hit, it is not separate power. I'll write it up clearer this round :) I used the MBA from your previous round +14 to hit; 2d6+5 damage for the gargoyle, if that is not correct, please re-roll or apply needed modifiers to my rolls as you see fit. Drew moves next to the gargoyle that resisted the lure of the illusion. He faints toward its right and then lunges left, his right hook coming from behind. He seems to stumble, almost appearing as if he'll grab the illusionary meat and gargoyle which resisted its hunger before, could not resist its protective instincts as it moves to block the monk. It swipes its claw toward the moving boy, but being somewhat off balance and helped by healthy kick to the swiping arm, the claws slam into the wall of the house, cracking the fingers. A whisper comes as Dre...

@FourMonos It's good to be back adventuring! Thank you for creating this adventure. My life is complete Lerrick smiles at the distraction she caused the giant orb. She then turns quickly and mumbles a prayer under her breath while pointing the index finger of her right hand towards the fire breathing elf. As she does Mikara becomes engulfed by a strange silver mist. As soon as it appears the mist gravitates directly to the wound given by the gargoyle. A surge of warm soothing healing all but seals the wound. Turning back to the beholder the cleric tries again to enforce her will against the vile creature. The bright silver gaze of her eyes bore into the creature, this time with the intent of trying to confusing it. Lerrick's smile widens as she is it is clear to her that her powers are causing the desired effect to the giant orb, much to the satisfaction of the cleric. minor: bastion of health (Encounter power range 10) Target Mikara spends a healing surge +4. movement: see map at...

Guys this month has been ridiculously busy. Work and after-work things have been out of control. I am not dead (or at least I'm pretty sure about that). I do appreciate your patience. I will get this updated this week. Next step Fhangrim and then beholder. :) No problem FourMonos. Take all of the time you need. We'll be here :) Having DM'ed a few adventures in the past, I felt extremely guilty when I took a lot of time in-between posts. Don't feel the guilt. +20 armor verses guilt. :)

Lord Sessadore I don't think I ignored the mark by Raiyek if I read (and remember) how it works correctly. It did take 8 damage from the first turn, but then it dominated Raiyek and he attacked Vermitrax. Since you didn't attack the beholder that turn, or stay adjacent or something like that, the mark ended. So the attacks it made last turn were not affected. I think. Pretty sure... Oops, you're right. Raiyek didn't have a chance to refresh the mark last turn. It's active again this turn though. ;)

Neurotic Is that still in effect when Mikara kills G3 and G4? They have to die from Illarions power, so if my fires killed them, then yes (note that damage total from the last round included +11, but it would actually trigger at the start of their turn.) . The effect is always on, but triggers only when Illarions kills something.

[QUOTE=FourMonos;6547449] The gargoyle doesn't take damage entering Illarion's effect from your push. However, it will take damage from starting its turn next to him. Yes, gargoyle will take the damage on entering the square. The power was so badly written initially that you could slide people around and each time they would enter the square adjacent they would take damage. It was later changed to once per round, but it is still enter or start. Effect: Until the start of Illarion's next turn, any enemy that enters a square adjacent to Illarion or starts it's turn there takes 1d6+9 fire damage

Okay, stupid question time, but who is Max on the map? Did we get a a Verm and Max on accident? also, MetaVoid you missed with the charge, I assume the 7 damage is from Furry of Blows, but what is the ongoing damage from? ongoing comes from a feat Slashing Kama Style - Drew can turn (and does) any flurry of blows into ongoing damage. Since it is only one per round it is not really terrible, but another feat (Beshaba's Boon ) gives him 5 temp hp any time someone fails saving throw against an effect he imposed. So...any time anyone does not save from the flurry, not only they get two ticks of damage instead of one, but he gets some temps. But of course, the damage is delayed by a full turn, so it occasionally happens that it doesn't trigget at all. If I want to apply damage immediately (for example, the target is alredy taking ongoing or I think it is near death) I will note it in the post just as I do with ongoing. Max is Ursa Maximus, one of the pets of our dear pet dog druid :p

If someone walks into the bar in another scene, it wouldn't do to have more people than I can explain going on the adventure... After taking care of Nementah temporary weakness, Rocco is surprised to see the adventurers, usually diverse and contentious bunch, converge on the elven paladin and agree to do something together. Especially since there is no prospective client to foot the bill. Turning toward Blagharm, he shrugs. "Sure, lead away. I don't like being underground and will not be really useful in steadying the fondation, I'm more of a demolition guy (post #116 and #146). But I'm good for helping Hanged Man." Unless you're planning paragon adventure, we could each go onto our respective planes :)
  • 03:10 PM - Son of Meepo quoted FourMonos in post L4W Discussion Thread V
You could always continue Madness at Gardmore Abbey :) Not a good idea at this point, as most of the characters from that adventure are here. I don't have time to run adventures anymore. RL has gotten more busy for me. I'm not sure what was meant by sociopath elementalist, but I have my sentinel druid gnoll (level 8) and my battle-sage artificer-warlord deva (level 9). They are both leaders, but the latter requires at least one ally to have decent basic attacks. I could be convinced to retire a PC to make something the group needs to fill a role, but that will take me a little bit of time to put together.

The change in the air is subtle, too subtle for the lay person to appreciate. But those few who find themselves again in the Hanged Man Inn are no lay folk. These few are hardened adventurers, alive because of their quickness of observation, thought and action. The shadows darkening the doorstep of the Hanged Man Inn catches their attention, and almost as one they turn their heads toward the door. Then as quick as it came, the presence left. Leaving the question hanging, what has happened here in Daunton? After a moment has passed with everyone staring at the door, Raiyek slowly rises from his seat. "That was not just me, was it? The rest of you felt it too?" The elf turns back to face the rest of the adventurers assembled in the old tavern. "I will say what we are all thinking. What has happened here in Daunton is not natural. I believe we were all gathered here for a purpose - that so many adventurers would suddenly appear at the Hanged Man after so long a desertion is not mere coincidenc...

KD, can we access the secret door out of the keep from the ground floor? Also any reason bandit 1 is still on map? Yes, the secret door is pretty easy to spot on this side. Move to it, minor to unlatch and open, move past it. As for #1, it's an error. I thought I had removed him, but I guess I didn't.

Merri tries to move silently as well. Stealth roll: 11 uh oh! Did you include aid bonus? Not that +2 would make much difference, but still. Illarion keeps on the outer edge of the group keeping himself between orcs and them. He changes his appearance to look vaguely goblinoid/orcoid. Good enough from the distance. In case someone glances their way, he calls in his best guttural language "MY bit*h!" while changing for the moment his looks to look like a menacing orc/goblin/whatever the observers race is. Son of Meepo, Use Changeling trick if you think that would cover quick change better - it gives CA in combat, could be used to menace someone this way? (Bluff +15, Initimidate +13)

If that fails, she will (Movement) climb the wall: 19. @KarinsDad Please update me after those two options Minor: Perception to see the door: 16 If that doesn't work (Likely) Hilkalas will move to climb as well: 16 I would also like an update. I guess I totally confused everyone on the secret door. Sorry about that. It is on the side of the outpost where Jasper was hanging out four rounds ago. It's not on the front of the outpost, so it cannot be seen from that direction. Except for Tana who could not see it at the time, the rest of the PCs saw that it is in square W12. A PC would have to move to square W11 to actually use perception to check it out. The PCs know where it is, they just do not know how to open it without checking it out up close. Both Rava and Hilkalas are able to climb to the top of the wall. Rava used 6 squares of movement to get to the top and 2 more to get...

My whip has reach 2 (10 feet), can I attack from the top No. The wall that the PCs and NPCs are standing on is 15 feet from the ground. Jayce could climb down the ladder and attack with the whip (hanging onto the ladder with one hand and using the whip with the other), but if he gets hit with an attack, he will fall (because he has 4 hit points). If he does an action point to use Second Wind and then attacks from the ladder, he might still fall if he gets hit because he is climbing (saving throws and all that).
