  • 02:26 AM - Lanefan mentioned Michael Dean in post Gen Con Has Doubled In Size Since 2010
...vered football stadium a block to the south they could take over (and rumour has it this is a possibility) if needed, as it's not otherwise used much in the NFL off-season. It's the accommodation squeeze causing the headaches. * - The 9% number is just this year's increase; each of the last two years the year-over-year increase has been closer to 20%+. * - I don't know about Chicago but there's a quote above about possibly moving it to Orlando, and that would be a disaster. Orlando has gobs and gobs of hotels, to be sure, but they're spread out over a massive area; and as they can't even organize a decent (and free!) shuttle service to the outlying hotels in Indy I shudder to think how it'd work out in Orlando. * - eyeheartawk Having events in places other than the actual ICC is a good thing, in that it allows events to be run outside the Thursday-Sunday block (e.g. the Stink on Wednesday evening in Union Station, same place the Ennies are presented on Friday night). * - Michael Dean The quickest way to expand the dealers' hall would be to move the card/board game area to somewhere else; which would be fine with me. • 01:23 PM - Kramodlog quoted Michael Dean in post Hobby Games: It Was a Very Good Year
This statement doesn't make any sense. How does one have anything to do with the other? Apparently, the quality is just fine for a lot of people. Or did you mean WOTC has no incentive to tailor their supplements to you, personally? It means the quality of D&D books is objectively bad and WotC doesn't have to increase the quality of its products cause they sell anyway. It is like Transformers movies. Thank the people who are mystified by streaming for that. Hopefully, the blunder of e-sports will drive sells down and force them to up their game. Well, one can dream.

  • 05:04 PM - Rone Barton quoted Michael Dean in post Dr. Wesley Snipes and Sean Astin Join Grimmerspace as Creative Developers
This is the very first time I've ever heard Wesley Snipes referred to as "Dr." With every reference to "Dr. Snipes" in the article, I was completely pulled out of it. Why are Mr. Tresca and Enworld using it? Maybe Mr. Barton feels obligated to refer to him as one to preserve their working relationship (although that should raise some huge red flags on working with him), but it's silly and disrespectful to people who have actually earned the title for it to be perpetuated here. Hi, Michael, or Mr. Dean, whichever you prefer, good sir. Obviously I'm terribly easy in that regard. Thank you for the honesty of your insight... that seeing "Dr. Wesley Snipes" pulled you so fully out of article immersion. That particular detail is useful information. However, huge red flags strikes me as a strong assumption, so please allow me to try to shed some light. New to a relationship with a celebrity gamer I just went ahead and called him what I was asked to call him by the person who connected us. "Sure...

Dude, why are you commenting on a topic that you admittedly won't do even the most basic research for, and then demand that everyone else do the work for you? Why don't you just say you're not going to do any analysis whatsoever and stick with your own pre-conceived opinion? Innocent until proven guilty does not mean what you think it does, btw. No, the most basic research would have been you reading the entire thread before commenting. In a later post, once an actual screenshot of Frank saying such remarks was directly linked, I condemned his actions unequivocally - just read the other posts. I just do not subscribe to mob mentality, and in the original link in this article, there was no such evidence without clicking all the random people's names and trying to dig through their own posts to find the screenshots. As in I do not have a Twitter account, it's very difficult to search through that crap. So, once someone very kindly linked an -actual- bit of evidence instead of hearsay, I was qu...

  • 04:11 PM - talien quoted Michael Dean in post The Origins of the RPG Crate
Is there a definition of crate publishing? I think I understand a bit from context but I've never actually heard that term before. Sorry guys, this is my fault. I added a definition of what RPG Crates are and now they fit into the subscription service model to help clarify. Thanks for pointing that out!

  • 03:43 AM - Hollow Man quoted Michael Dean in post What Happens If CODENAME: MORNINGSTAR Doesn't Fund?
"The community and you have some decisions to make in the next two weeks"? That sounds pretty arrogant, and is a big turnoff. Sounds like something my mom would say when she was trying to steer us ignorant kids in the "right" direction. That, plus the business about how if we don't pledge it means we're happy with the status quo. No, it may simply mean that we're not happy with THEIR product. I wish they'd stop behaving like they're a silver bullet. If it was as perfect as they say it is, for the million dollars they've already spent, it would be out already. -HM
