Combat Challenge Round 2
Vok laughs at the chain-wielder's pathetic attempts, stepping closer to the enemy to give him less room to maneuver, especially over the rough area.
"By the Host, grant me strength" the half-elf calls out, his sword begins glowing with soft white light.
With a roar, Vok slashes at the enemy with his now-enchanted blade, the longsword crashes down on his foe and an explosion of white light emanates from the blade. It washes over the entire hobgoblin contingent and they are bathed in the Host's energy. Vok is a glowing beacon that they are distracted by.
The hobgoblin lowers his guard some, a trickle of blood from his wounds clearly seen.
[Hit; divine sanction on all enemies; +3 radiant due to vulnerability; B1 bloodied]
Rikka spun her totem in the same slashing gesture she had used before, once more attempting to call upon the power of the wind- she knew the air spirits were strong here in Sharn, but she was not sure she had the power to compel them... This time the winds were stronger, and Rikka gave a fierce smile as she moved across the field. The dirgesinger is slammed into the wall with a heavy thud, some glass shards cutting her; her companion is forced to stumble back.
[Both hit; 12 total to dirgesinger, 4 to bladebearer. Slid.]
Ryk places both hands on the barrier. Grimacing as the metal and glass shards bite into his skin, he vaults over the wall to land on the other side of the dirgesinger, his large blade falling into his hand while he is still in mid-air. The dirgesinger slices too high as the halfling tumbles behind her, Vok's divine power singing her as she does so. As he lands, he strikes twice while Spring bites at the hobgoblin from the other side. Both land a single hit, with Spring drawing blood from his rend at her back. But the pressing attack inspires Ryk as he sees Crush's approving nod.
[Ryk takes Ryk takes 6hp from wall. 8hp for OA to singer; Misses Ryk. Spring hits once, Ryk hits with second attack for a total of 24. Bloodied. Ryk gains 6hp from Inspiring Presence.]
Bellegon moves a bit back and curses Dirge singer. The lights around her dim for a moment, but he's targeting her ally at this moment. The wall obscures his view, and his spell his wasted. But the powers of Shadow are fickle, and the drow moans in pain as his price is paid.
[Bellegon curses singer. Cover from wall causes him to miss, he takes 10 damage and misses again; 3 more damage.]
Nodding approval at the halfling's selfless rush into battle, the warforged booms
"That's the spirit Tavishny! Keep pressing them!"
Crush then rushes up to the low wall, and thrusts the point of his longsword deep into the dirgesingers shoulder. Pulling the blade free he cries,
"To me friends, we can hold the line from here!"
[Hit]
Combat Challenge Round 3
The dirgesinger spits blood but smiles.
So many suitors! Afraid I'm already taken, boys! She hums a discordant tune again, sweeping her blade around; it only connects with the halfling, but it is still painful and disorienting.
Just like the top of the Three Bridges, right Hesh? Those were the days. Her remembrance seems to bolster her as her wounds bother her less; at the same time, she dances back from the fray.
[Recharges power. Designating Hum vs Ryk, Spring, Crush: Hits Ryk, Misses Spring, Crush, 11hp and +2 to hit by other hobs. No damage from Sanction (already applied this round). Uses power to heal 15 hp and shift back, then shifts again.]
The singer's wounded bodyguard moves to protect her, circling around her and then charging at the wounded halfling. He grunts as Vok's diving protection sears him, but his momentum is enough to allow the blade to drive him, tearing a bloody wound. His quick footwork allows him to hop back, and the a pat from the dirgesinger renews some of his resilience.
[Moves to charge Ryk; 8hp from sanction. Charge AC 22, 7hp. Shift free after hit, gain 7 THP from bloodying Ryk]
The other scimitar wielder tries to hop the barrier. He is stymied twice!
[Fails to jump over again; fails again.]
The chainwielder curses his subordinate with some choice goblin words, then turns to Vok.
Impressive how your faith in the unseens strengthens you. But unlike you, I know where I come from! He lashes out again with his chain, the first deflected by the half-elf's armor, the second by his shield. Frustrated, he lashes out again, this time wrapping one end around the half-elf and holding him in place!
[Spinning Chain: AC 21, AC 19. Spends AP. Chain Snag: Fort 30, 10 hp and Vok grabbed.]
Combat Challenge Round 3
PCs go in post order. Please link to IC rolls and list your current status.[sblock=Map]
Triangles are difficult terrain. White boxes are low walls of debris; they are sharp and likely do damage to those that move into them. They can be vaulted with a DC 20 Acrobatics check; failure means end of movement. Its a DC 20 Athletics check with a running start; w/o a running start its still DC 20 but you need DC 25 to do it without taking damage.[/sblock]
