That may be part of it but it doesn't seems like there is more than that going on here. I sensed this was part of their idea of justice. If seemed to be part of an overall brotherhood or pack mentality.. They are bad and mean but they clearly do have a code that seems to be meaningful to them. Again I am reminded of gangs or motorcycle clubs.

Seems to be a pretty common thought - serving "man" to the group.
