Round 2 Giant Battle
The group springs into action, casting spells and shooting arrows at the giants as they continue their slumber spells. Vincenzo's arrow finds a gap in the armor on of them and makes him wince in pain, but the withdraw of his target, Taniwha, causes him to stop incanting and look at the group of adventurers in disgust. The larger one incants to the end of his spell, but the magic washing over Maui has no effect and the druid beats back the urge to fall into a sudden (and probably, lethal) sleep. The two of them immediately look at each other and start a short argument, but after a quick exchange decide upon a course of action. They unsling their bows and shoot arrows as large as spears at Maui, piercing his feline flesh and causing significant wounding. The cat stands defiantly as the lone rat of the apocalypse begins to charge....
[sblock=Combat Stuff]I'm going to reiterate all actions for clarity.
Maui falls back 20' and casts resinous skin.
Taniwha falls back to Barlo's position and begins guarding. He has a readied action.
Barlo identifies the bad guys and begins Inspire Courage song.
Ethane casts Bless.
Vincenzo shoots his bow at the giants, hitting one for 6 damage (2 more for IC).
The giant's spells fail, one because Taniwha is nowhere near in range and the other due to Maui's powerful will (free successful saving throw per above.)
Both Giants pull out bows and shoot at Maui. Both hit, one for 15 damage and one for 17 damage. An invalid roll narrowly saved Maui from a crit.
The Dire Rat begins the charge of the Rat Brigade. Oh, no.

Feel free to move your own tokens if you wish to, but make sure to update by hitting the return and post the updated version of the map. The terrain is super-simple - all buildings (on the map) are simple, solid blocks. The 'road' you're on is little more than a lack of buildings. (There is minor definition, but nothing significant enough to mark on the battle map.)
Vincenzo: Make sure to declare your target next time. I just randomly chose your arrow to hit the small giant. Not sure if it matters much in the opening round.
Barlo knowledge skills: The giants are Ogre Magi - flying, spellcasting, corporeal spirits with high resistance to magic. They possess a notable healing factor, but it is overcome by fire and acid. The rat is a Dire Rat, and it's most extraordinary ability is the fact its bite causes a nasty disease. Turns out, random drow you meet in the forest don't know the difference between giants and ogre mages, but you do.
You're all up. (Your round 2)[/sblock]
