OOC: forgot to mention...

In the same pile as Duran you find three other human bodies and a jumble of the strange stony armour you have learned to associate with the earth cult.

Perception to identify potions?
Perception to identify potions: 1d20+3 22

I think you're supposed to spend a short rest to ID things, but PbP is hard enough to track loot.
So you have found
2 potions of healing
1 potions of superior healing
1 potion of fire breathing
2 potions of flying

The Helm of Heroism
Armour (Helm), Rare (Requires Attunement)
Great spirals on the sides of this helm and the pointed nose makes it resemble a ram. Great tales of those that have worn this helm are told the length and breadth of the land, of their courage and selfless deeds that led to great victories.

Once per day the wearer can cast the spell Heroism as a first level spell. This spell has a range of self and does not use your concentration. You can choose to use your INT, WIS or CHA as your casting attribute for the spell.

Desairn Valley, Day 9, Evening

Leaving the camp is slow going. The prisoners are all laden with whatever they can carry. Most have a sensible approach and take food or provisions, but a few are more greedy and try to carry less practical items.

The scruffy caravan heads to Beliard, but stops a little short to build a funeral pyre for Duran.

When you arrive in Beliard, there are many happy reunions between prisoners and townsfolk. Including Maygen and Selwin, the homesteaders who's place was burned by the orcs.

Some of the prisoners you rescued from the monastery have headed off, their homes nearby, but around half are still waiting to be escorted back to Red Larch.

Sir Jondal - looking much more presentable - greats you, "You have proven to be good people, not many would have risked their lives for strangers. We owe you a great debt. I am beholden to my order and must return there to share this news, but should you call on me for aid I will offer whatever assistance I can."

The inn is cramped but offers better rest than the outdoors.

GM:
So you have four quest strings to follow:
- Return the freed slaves to Red Larch
- The monastery is still occupied by the Earth cult. You have clues that its leader has been receiving disturbing dreams for some time and is looking to summon something.
- The Caverns in the Sighing Valley. In order to infiltrate the cult you were tasked with causing a mischief to the Earth Cult. You have most likely done this by freeing their slaves.
- Riverguard Keep: Thrown into chaos after their leader was assassinated they are less of a threat but they still hold a strong position on the Desairn Valley

OOC: Okay, cool. Thanks. I know in Pathfinder you were allowed to identify potions via Perception. And we have at least a short rest building the pyre, and a lot longer once in town to identify things.

If anyone wants to claim any of the magic items, speak up. If someone doesn't have any healing, they should get a potion. Errol doesn't currently have anything, which limited his ability to save Duran that last fight. I think our new barbarian would benefit most from the Helm.

Errol's vote is to return the slaves to Red Larch. He's pretty open to what's next after that, though I suppose finishing off the Earth Cult might be best since we know more of their plans than the others.

OOC:
Also happy for Gormok to have the helmet. Ilvellios will probably take one of the healing potions if no one else wants it.

Returning the freed slaves to Red Larch is fine, but there may still be enemy spies there. Would also be happy to return to the Caverns in the Sighing Valley, to infiltrate deeper there..

Oh, and I'm away on holiday for a couple of weeks, will level up Ilvellios when I get back.

OOC: Gormok could use a healing potion, the helmet wouldn't do Gormok much good as his int and cha are - 1 while his wis only +1.

I second escorting the prisoners.
