Adi’s mind wanders as usual during the whole moving/burning the corpse episode. Usually he is trying to think of ways to make his friends laugh... this time though, he has an epiphany, when the solemn moment is over he pipes up... "Hey guys, you know how I used the Way that was in the globes to enhance my manipulation... I wonder if we can use a globe to combine our abilities to manipulate more Way on a single way line."

Day 259: Manipulating Way Lines

Adi’s mind wanders as usual during the whole moving/burning the corpse episode. Usually he is trying to think of ways to make his friends laugh... this time though, he has an epiphany, when the solemn moment is over he pipes up... Back in the dining room, Vittero stops walking at Adi's words. "That is an interesting idea. I think you are saying that we might be able to make our manipulation more powerful. We should try it."
GM: Attempting to manipulate thermal Way through one of the globes warps the globe when heat is increased, but no effect is amplified or carried. Attempting to manipulate mechanical Way causes one of the globes to shatter with a terrible ringing sound. Chemical Way and Mystic Way have no affect, but when manipulating electromagnetic Way, whether with regard to light or shock, the effect is amplified and carried through the globes.

Apparently, whoever originally manufactured the globes figured out some method of tuning them specifically to electromagnetic Way, though the original design was obviously to carry light.

Raven Elk heads back out the way they came in and, while standing at the door, surveys the area finding the best way to get to the next spire. He also surveys the flora and fauna again to see if there are any intriguing plants or animals he may have missed with his first cursory glance; especially for anything potentially dangerous.

Day 259: What's Next?

Vittero cracks his knuckles and looks about the dining room. "There is far too much to carry here. Taylar, if you want one of the globes for now, I will gather up the silver. The rest of this stuff is too breakable to carry much more."
Raven Elk heads back out the way they came in and, while standing at the door, surveys the area finding the best way to get to the next spire. He also surveys the flora and fauna again to see if there are any intriguing plants or animals he may have missed with his first cursory glance; especially for anything potentially dangerous.
GM: Raven Elk is forced to move from the doorway out onto the edge of the porch area to be able to see what he desires to know. He instinctively circumnavigates the decorative pattern in the stone. At this vantage point, he sees that paths and stairs lead to every Keep in the valley with an addition set of steps to the southern edge of the waterfall. He also notes that the valley was once an organized series of orchards; but over time, other natural vegetation has returned to intrude upon what was once more organized.

The sounds of many various animals fill his ears and various birds flit about the trees and soar across the sky. He realizes that if anything intriguing, useful, or dangers exists within the flora and fauna of the vale, it will not be readily observable from this height. He also notes that no path of egress for the valley is visible, again making him ponder how the original occupants traveled.

Raven Elk is sensing that there is a mystery here, how they got in and out of the valley had him, and his mates, perplexed. Raven Elk was starting to imagine that they could have only flown in, but no one has mentioned seeing a bird of that size save fireside tales he'd hear Vittero's or Taylar's fathers speak of during bedtime stories they'd tell during sleepovers back home at the Outpost.

When Taylar comes out of this keep-tower, he sets his thoughts to the back of his mind to continue mulling over while he focuses again to the task at hand.

"So, are we done here?, Raven Elk asks Taylar.

Exiting the tower, Maka points toward the left-hand path, and says, "Let's get moving, we should try to check out all of these towers, starting with that one, since it's the closest."

Maka moves slowly along the path; his bow is out, and he has an arrow nocked, but he is careful not to actually put any tension on the bowstring.

Day 259: The Next 3 Keeps

The crew moves down the path from the first keep and up the path to the second. They are disappointed and surprised to find that the second keep has collapsed, even part of the entrance facade has fallen away to age and the natural shaking of the mountains. The porch area is still intact and has a similar circular pattern as the first.

Moving on the the third, the crew finds that only the entry room is still intact, with everything else having collapsed from some long forgotten quaking. The layout is like the first keep and the porch area also contains a similar floor design.

Skipping the path that leads back up to the window from which the party entered the valley, the crew approaches the fourth keep, which is to the southeast of the lake in the center of the vale. By the time the porch area is reached, the suns has dipped below the western edge of the mountain and the air begins to cool quickly with the higher altitude. Fatigued from all the stair climbing, the porch area or entry room of the fourth keep seems like a good camping area. The door to this particular keep had long been left open and no longer closes.

Day 260: Keep 4

The night's rest is very peaceable. The nocturnal animals sounds are only those that are commonly expected and the night air is cool and dry. Most of the party wakes and rises as the pre-dawn light illuminates the area before the rising sun bursts its yellow-orange glow above the eastern peaks.

Moving into the entry room, the crew sees that it is more like a foyer with a container holding fist sized glass globes mounted on arm length sticks. The inside door of the foyer has also long since been left open and a sloping path can be seen beyond stretching down into the darkness.
