ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] On the gunner role for naval combat

How does the gunner role for naval combat work?

A. When officer positions are set, the gunner chooses a firing arc. The gunner can use either gunner ability only from that firing arc.
B. When officer positions are set, the gunner chooses a firing arc. The gunner can make the extra attack only from that firing arc, but can use the hit location ability from any firing arc.
C. The gunner can use either gunner ability in any firing arc.

Moreover, how does having multiple gunners work? Can two gunners make the extra attack from the same firing arc?

C. A ship's ability to bring damage to bear depends on firing arc, but PCs can scamper across a ship pretty easily.

Also, it's not an extra attack, just improved aiming, right?

One of the bosun abilities is this:
* Add his Charisma modifier to a shipboard weapon’s attack roll, or to an engineer’s check to repair or tweak the vessel.

Meanwhile, one of the gunner abilities is this:
* Roll for an attack with a shipboard weapon, adding his Intelligence or Dexterity modifier to the normal attack bonus. Similar to with the bosun above, a gunner trained in Perception can either add 2, or add 1 + his ability score modifier, whichever is higher.
[[In Pathfinder, a navigator gains this benefit with at least 1 rank in Perception or Profession (sailor).]]

Is this not an extra attack? If it is not an extra attack, then how do multiple gunners on the same ship work?
