It flies using static electricity. Anyone with hair would look like Don King or Buckwheat by the end of the flight.
Chashere sweaters would look like down jackets.lol

I love how the article cited that the researcher was inspired by the OS Star Treks shuttle.

That shuttle wasn't flying with that blue glow & lack of sound for any scientific reason. It was because of production budget & F/X limitations....
Any in-series reason as to how it worked was just Trekno-babble.

so? If it inspires him to do this what does matter if the source of inspiration is fake?

The flip phone design was based on the Star Trek communicator. A lot of practical things were inspired by fiction.


Or was it friction?
