I think this is a good idea. I bought D&D books for years before I really played the game. I enjoyed reading them and diving into the fantastic imagery of the artwork. I hope these books can do the same for a new generation.

So we riot if there are not at least a dozen polearms in the Weapon book right?

Jokes aside, I wonder if all the art in the book is gonna be original art or if it will be reused stuff from the Dungeon Masters Guide and the like. Same with the Monster Book.

12.99 Seems cheap for an art book from a notable brand.
 

From the experience I have of running the games in the Adventurer's League and also as a teacher, I do feel that there are more teens playing D&D than there has been in decades. No hard data on this though.

WotC has said that most people playing right now are terms agers and twenty-somethings..
