Pretty much what I was going to say - I doubted WoTC/Hasbro would allow a kickstarter, much to my sadness.

And the timescale doesn't fit. If this is to come out anything like September this year, it much have been in development for a couple of years already.
I don't expect it to be released for at least six months.

Well, the Stadia demo for the 6th got confirmed, so its very likely that the rumours of a BG3 reveal are true, too.
    It will be live streamed.

I wouldn't guess anything specific at this point: whatever it is has been in the pipeline for years at this point, probably.

This is as they say game changing. If they are making it centre stage for the Stadia announcement, then that suggests massive investment anything is possible.

There's also no need for a kickstarter, Larian Studios has plenty of money from the massive sales of Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2. They weren't going to kickstart D:OS2 but were convinced by indie developers that big name kickstarters attract users to kickstarter so that smaller projects also get more pledges while they're running.

No money quite like Google money...how much do you want to wager that Google is filled to the brim with old fans of the original?
