D&D 5E Heroes of Baldur's Gate is a D&D Adventure From Bioware's Baldur's Gate Designer

James Ohlen and Jesse Sky of Bioware fame have released the 160-page PDF and hardcover Heroes of Baldur's Gate over on DMs Guild.

It's an adventure which takes PCs from levels 1-6, and also includes stats for fourteen characters from the video games, including Minsc, Jaheira, Imoen, Edwin, Viconia, and more. Also included are eight new monsters, four new backgrounds, and lots of maps of Baldur's Gate and the Sword Coast.

"The city of Baldur’s Gate is the pride of West Faerûn—a mercantile stronghold ruled by the famous Grand Dukes. One year ago, a powerful merchant leader named Sarevok nearly catapulted the city into war with the neighboring nation of Amn. This crisis was averted, and the remnants of the organization were scattered throughout the Sword Coast.

Now, the city is threatened from within by agents of the nefarious Zhentarim, who seek to fill the power vacuum left behind in the wake of these events. Meanwhile, the Shadow Druids plot to destroy the city by performing terrible rituals, deep within the Cloakwood. Who will rise to oppose them?"

There's even a trailer!

A Title Much Cooler Than Anything on the Old Site
And here I thought I was beyond impulse purchases. I bought the hard cover because, while I don't know when I'll ever be able to run it, it looks gorgeous and I'm sure I'll have fun paging through it.

Also, my kids are rediscovering the old video games through the re-releases. It'll be kinda cool to have this book while playing through the games.

They already do allow POD. Anything on DriveThruRPG can be published POD and select titles on the DMs Guild are available for POD too. The POD on DMs Guild is still a trial basis I believe so you have to go through a bit more to get it done, but it is possible.

If a creator is doing their own thing outside of a community content program (like an OGL or original game system), they have complete control of their PDFs on OBS, which includes POD, which is what I think you are referring too.

But to clarify, there are several Community Content programs (Cypher, Storytell, Traveller, 7th Sea, CoC, etc) other than the DM's Guild. These programs don't allow community creators the same level of control of their PDFs. For example, the parent company (like WotC) can put a CC PDF on sale, but the original creator can not.

At this time and to my knowledge, only DM Guild PDFs have a POD option. I'm guessing that OBS uses the DM Guild as a pilot program before they offer these services to other Community Content programs. Hence my question, when is OBS going to offer this option for the other programs.

OBS allows OGL content to be POD through DriveThruRPG.
