Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Hot Off The Press

It'll be available in some stores from September 7th (hey, that's next week!) and most others on the 18th, but Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, the latest adventure for Dungeons & Dragons, has arrived at WotC's offices where Satine Phoenix, Jeremy Crawford, Greg Tito, and Chris Lindsay all posed with the book.

Porn?!? What kind of adventure do you think Dragon Heist? I mean I know it's the forgotten realms so there are tons of brothels, er I mean festhalls, and enough gods, demon lords, and Archdevils of lust to make their own Pantheon, but I wouldn't call the book porn, I mean wow.

Apparently you don’t know about Ms. Phoenix’s filmography.

No, so I just looked it up, I see now, you were talking about her porn career, and I thought the porn thing was a reference to something in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, so I feel silly now.

I honest am not familiar with Satine, although I've seen her connected to D&D so I assumed to she was some kind of game designer or something for D&D.

So that is pretty cool and interesting.

Porn and D&D....it's like i'm 15 again!!!

Come on, man. People aren't defined by their jobs, former or present. Bringing up her adult film career every time she appears is not a good look. She has proven herself a skilled GM and gaming personality, writer and designer.

Sex work is work. Have a little respect.

Satine is now a official employee of Wotc. Obviously, working for the DnD team. This is an awesome addition which can only help DnD! She truly deserved this position because of the insane amount of good will she has done over the years.

This is a dumb comment, you're trying to say sex work is no different from any other work yet at the same time immediately assume that because someone talked about her being a former sex worker it must have been in a negative fashion. The person seemed to just have a case of nostalgia, give them a break.

It doesn't matter whether he was being nostalgic. He was reducing Phoenix to a porn star in context of her current job. Its inappropriate and demeaning and I dont mind calling it out.

So sex work is just like any other job, except we have to give it special exceptions unlike any other job, yeah that's logical. Sorry but if someone's a former scientist and I see them in a D&D post like this and my comment is "Science and D&D, it's like I'm back in high school" that isn't a problem, so why is it here if supposedly using your own words, it's no different? You seem to be searching for something to be outraged about so badly that you're being hypocritical.

Chill out, maybe he's simply a fan of both her current and past works, no is judging anyone, total respect to Satine in all career choices and endeavors, it was clearly intended in a positive way, let's not be over sensitive and treat it like an attack or criticism, but rather adoration of the totality of her creative professional accomplishments. Perhaps it would be best to focus on Waterdeep: Dragon Heist instead.

In some ways I'm most excited about the Setting info. I'm very curious how AL is going to use renown for it.

I'm also curious if any new temples have risen in the city and if they have rebuilt the Plinith (the temple to all the None Evil Gods that don't have large temples in the city, which why Acolyte Background can be for any God and still get full benefit of the feature.

Also curious if there are any new monsters in it beyond NPCs.

I hope it has some cool Waterdeep themed backgrounds and support for PHB and SCAG backgrounds.
