Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Hot Off The Press

It'll be available in some stores from September 7th (hey, that's next week!) and most others on the 18th, but Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, the latest adventure for Dungeons & Dragons, has arrived at WotC's offices where Satine Phoenix, Jeremy Crawford, Greg Tito, and Chris Lindsay all posed with the book.

Satine Phoenix... I am guessing that is not her real name, or she had it changed?
EDIT: OMG I just googled her. I dunno about WotC, but in most companies it would be a big no-no for hiring someone if googling their name brings up a TON of porn videos... Especially in a time when I have known people who were not hired after their job interviews simply because they had some very visible tatoos.

And for once they are releasing the miniatures at the same time as the adventure. I wonder, when is Dungeon of the Mad Mage out next?

Diversity and representation is very important to WotC.

I will be running this as our new campaign in 2019. I am looking forward to seeing what sort of subsystem support, if any, WotC builds for the heist genre in the book. With the success of Gumshoe games and Blades in the Dark, I am not sure a traditional "plan for 3 hours and muck it up in the first 5 minutes" system will be very satisfying any more.

I am also curious to see what kinds of DM tools emerge on the Guild by the time I run it. I have a tough time parsing WotC and Paizo walls of text in adventures sometimes and I hope some folks build solid DM guides showing the relationships, webs on intrigue and so on.

Will Gale Force 9 be making supplements to complement these releases?
GM screens, cards for any new spells, etc.

I hope they do a screen for each book. I dig those things.

Also WOTC making a map pack is different. Do we have any details on this?
I'm assuming they're Undermountain maps.

Apparently WotC is doing the “Mad Mage” map pack themselves (based on the low price I’m guessing these are paper maps).

But Gale Force Nine will be doing two different map products for Waterdeep — a giant map of the whole city, and also a set of multiple maps, one for each city ward. Apparently the multi-map pack doesn’t include the giant map, so to get it all you have to buy both. These will be wet-erase vinyl maps like their Tomb of Annihilation set, therefore much more expensive than the “Mad Mage” pack.

I’m thinking I’ll end up getting the maps eventually?? And the Syrinscape sound track (with NPC quoted text from some familiar faces!)

23 levels plus skull port would get very expensive as wet erase vinyl maps.
