You mean like the massive marketing push for One D&D which oddly stopped soon as Hasbeen got caught with their pants down over the OGL and they needed to distance themselves from a disaster of PR?
Anyway….evidence? Am I on trial? Lol, we are talking about a make believe game about pixies and...
Yep that one. The one where they constantly refer to it as One D&D.
Anyway, it’s not D&D…it‘s Hasbro’s house ruled garbage…made by a company that wants to squeeze you for every last cent with it’s upcoming D&D XS Ultimate Game Pass release. It’s soulless modern corporate sludge. Enjoy.
I listened carefully to every word and didn’t hear anything to support you telling me I’m away with the fairies. You seem super keen to buy into the whole WOTC double talkin’ jive…good for you. Enjoy the systematic dismantling of the game being ground into dust as the corporate juggernaut...
Haha! I watched the video you posted called ONE D&D where they talk about the new version of D&D called ONE D&D with the title and end credit reveal of the new name…ONE D&D…yes so clear they were never going to call it ONE D&D. If anything the limb I went out on just got upgraded.
I’m not...
I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest it was going to be called One D&D…but either the response was poor from customers or they needed to distance themselves from the OGL fiasco in a simple way.
So it’s not a new edition but it is a new edition. So races will be distinct but all the same. So the rules will be changed but not changed. We support local gaming stores whilst we drive everybody online and away from them…etc etc….it goes on. We were going to screw over all the 3rd party...
He can be pretty brutal but I like his distinctive take on things and he seems like he’s pretty honest about what he thinks about items he is reviewing.
Well, I signed. Frankly though, even if they backtrack I don’t care…they’ll have to go some way to get my dollar again. I have dozens of cool fantasy games I can play that in many ways are superior anyway.
I can’t see myself buying any official D&D stuff after this from Hasbro/WoTC.
It stinks. Even if they backtrack…it’s going to take some brilliant PR work to convince me they can be trusted.
I think a more interesting proposition is Paizo buying out a smaller publisher with a good rpg system they can pin Pathfinder 3rd Edition to if this OGL drama turns out to be the real deal. An interesting one might be buying Savage World’s creators…Pinnacle.…or certainly expanding the license...
