OOC: Similarly, Corragan could use 1 healing power from someone. Then I can use a second wind to get to full hp. It leaves me down to three healing surges, but hopefully I won't get quite so beat up this time around.

OOC: My Perception sucks, so I will not be rushing off ahead of the group here. Whoever has the highest Perception in group should lead us in exploration, so we don't get murdered by traps.

That plan for heals suits me perfect.

Ignatz winds down as they leave the arena. He lets his connection with the primal spirits of storm and wolf fade, and his body slowly changes back to its original shape and charge. He lays flat on his back during the rest, napping soundly through Dina and Sha'kar's application and extraction of healing infusions. He mumbles in his sleep: "Filthy... lose hyu hat... schtupid voman..."

He snorts awake at the rumblings from the new arena above them, and eyes the stairs suspiciously. "Ve gots anodder game to play," he mutters to himself, and stands up. He stretches, and takes stock: he still feels a little tired- probably won't be able to do that Thunder thing again today, he thinks- but he's loose and ready. He waits for the elf to lead the way.

OOC: My perception is high, but not Corragan high. Lead the way, WIS-primary Elf. :)

Corragan sighs, leans against the wall and slides down it to a crouch "I'm glad that's over with," he says. "That was painful," he mutters, putting his arm into a makeshift sling where it was slightly less painful until Dina and Sha'kar offered him their healing. "At least we have a little break to catch our breath."

As the portcullis rises, Corragan listens to the announcers voice booming above. "The Jade King?" he asks, wracking his brain, "Never heard of him. Anyone got any ideas what we're walking into this time?"

Pulling his cloak around him, Corragan heads up the stairs into the arena. He takes a look around to take in the small room. Seeing the corpse on the floor, he bends over to take a look and see if he can glean any information on what might have killed him, and what they were going to come up against themselves.

"I know what killed this poor unfortunate," he says to the crowd, impressing them with his knowledge of the healing arts, indicating the dent and crack in the skull. "A sharp blow to the head, must have caused his helmet to collapse."

OOC: The healing plan looks good to me.

Well, that could have gone worse. We had a couple of close calls, but on the whole, I think we did well," Sha'kar says as he spends his last remaining infusion to bring Corragan back to some semblance of health, then nods in thanks as Rilissa assists him in recharging it, while he recharges another himself. He continues providing healing for his teammates and recharging the infusions again as they rest. He also takes a few minutes to focus on Ignatz's weapon, empowering it with magical energy.

Dina, you should follow him," Sha'kar says with a nod at Corragan as he starts up the stairs, " and keep an eye out for magical dangers."

You know,"
Sha'kar says as he climbs the stairs himself, this story sounds somewhat familiar to me..." He shakes his head in frustration. "I can't remember what happened..."

OOC: Hah. Helps if I do 1d20+9 instead of 9d20. I vote I use the 98 roll and get like a +20 on my next d20 roll!!! A quick question, do the Appease the Crowd checks reset each round with the new crowd? Just checkin so I know how much I lose on my next roll for the bad appease check :)

Using Augment Energy on Ignatz weapon, he can use a free action after making an attack roll to expend the augment to gain a +2 bonus to the result

Match Two: The Jade Tomb, Round 0a

When Corragan carefully enters the room, he notices nothing aside from the body that especially stands out. As he examines the body, he does, in fact, find it suffered a strong blow to the head - strong enough to dent its helmet. He probably died some time in the last hour.

Aside from the foreboding corpse and the rustle and murmur of the crowd, nothing else seems to be remarkable in the room.

GM: No change in the map aside from Corragan in Q6.

Match Two: The Jade Tomb, Round 0b

Corragan and Rilissa move forward and peek down the hallway, Rilissa spotting a bend in the tunnel and Corragan seeing what looks like some sort of opening ahead in the tunnel, though from his angle he can't see more very well.

Purple crystals protrude from the walls and as they look out, faint purple mist swirls out around them, reducing vision to a haze a short distance away.

Corragan: T5, 28/28hp
Sha'kar: -, 30/30hp
Rilissa: T7, 27/27hp
Ignatz: -, 30/30hp
Dina: -, 24/24hp

Effect Key: location, hp/max hp, damage related, TenT or TsnT, conditional, save ends, encounter[/sblock]

[sblock=Terrain, UPDATED]Stairs: The stairs take a move action to ascend (enter the map) or descend (leave the map).

Walls: The walls are fairly rough, DC 18 to climb. The arena is 2 squares tall with a forcefield shimmering over the top to keep the gladiators (read: you) in the arena.

Hallways: Hallways contain a mist that is light obscurement; anything 2 or more squares away is concealed, anything beyond has total concealment (can't be seen).[/sblock]

[sblock=Special Rules][sblock=Appease the Crowd]
*As a minor action, a PC may make a skill check to wow the crowd. If they succeed at the check, they gain +2 to their next d20 roll if they beat the DC, plus +2 per 5 by which they beat the DC. If the check is failed, the PC takes a -2 penalty to their next d20 roll, -2 more per 5 by which they miss the DC.

I.E, if the DC is 15, 1-5 would be -6, 6-10 would be -4, 11-14 would be -2, 15-19 would be +2, etc.

*All skill DCs will start at 15 and each individual skill's DC goes up by 2 per time the skill is used as the crowd gets more jaded. The DCs go up at the end of the round in which they are used. The DCs do not drop between arena rounds.

*Any skill can be used, as long as the player can provide relevant character action to back up the roll.

Current Skill DCs:
Athletics: 17
Heal: 15(+2 End of Round)
History: 17
Perception: 17
Others: 15[/sblock]

[sblock=The Jade Tomb]Treasures: To win, the group must find, collect, and escape with the three treasures.[/sblock][/sblock]
