OOC: It's not that important how accurate the user is- it doesn't go away when you miss, so you can miss once and then hit and it will take effect.

That said, I don't think we should waste it on this minion, who will likely die soon and isn't really much of a threat. Searching the rooms so we can find the three treasures as quickly as possible should be priority- one or two party members with high Perception should search the room while the rest engage the ghostie.

The ghost shrieks in rage and swings at Rilissa, the crowd cheering as she manages to avoid its frantic swings.

In between attacking it, Ignatz notices another room branching off the hallway ahead, lit by two burning braziers. There's part of what looks like a sarcophagus lit by a faint blue glow inside it.

GM: Still an open barrel in the Incense room to search.

Spectral Resistance(Free, when reduced to 0 hp): The Jade Ghost makes a saving throw. On a success, the Jade Ghost gains 1 hp.

Warding the Smoke: As a minor action DC10 Heal check you can ward yourself or help ward an adjacent character against the smoke until the end of your next turn. If you beat the DC, the target gains +1 to their Fort defense against the burner, +1 per 5 over the DC. [/sblock]

[sblock=Terrain]Stairs: The stairs take a move action to ascend (enter the map) or descend (leave the map).

Walls: The walls are fairly rough, DC 18 to climb. The arena is 2 squares tall with a forcefield shimmering over the top to keep the gladiators (read: you) in the arena.

Hallways: Hallways contain a mist that is light obscurement; anything 2 or more squares away is concealed, anything beyond has total concealment (can't be seen).[/sblock]

I.E, if the DC is 15, 1-5 would be -6, 6-10 would be -4, 11-14 would be -2, 15-19 would be +2, etc.

*All skill DCs will start at 15 and each individual skill's DC goes up by 2 per time the skill is used as the crowd gets more jaded. The DCs go up at the end of the round in which they are used. The DCs do not drop between arena rounds.

Ignatz swipes at the annoyingly persistent little wisp again, but this time it's ready for his quick blow. Ignatz scowls and then withdraws, stepping deftly back. He visibly calms himself, snorts disdainfully at the wailing thing, and then turns his back on it, opting instead to explore a little further into the ruins. "Mebbe hy ken find someting more fun to fight," he mutters to himself, and his expression brightens.

After failing to hit the creature yet again, Rilissa attempts to retreat from it behind cover of her compatriots, expecting to use her Aegis to teleport past the ghost. However when she began to step back, her arm was too high to maintain her ward correctly, and the ghost easily punishes her for doing so.

OOC: Really? You leave flank and I miss. Freaking lame.

His hacking cough can be heard despite the noise of the battle and he takes a lung full of the poisoned gas before pulling the cloak tighter around his mouth

OOC: I actually thought to myself, 'what are the odds that someone is going to miss by a small enough margin that they would have hit with CA?' Sorry. In retrospect I should have delayed after you. I'm willing to do that if Iron Sky doesn't mind.

Also, you're slowed at the beginning of your move, since OAs interrupt their trigger, so you can only make it two squares.

I love bloodsports, don't you Brunhilda dear? you hear a older human man in the stands saying to the dwarf women next to him. I judge this to be quite satisfactory. They should bring back public executions next. Tarquin Wellington says.

Dina pokes at the ghost, but she is unable to see it well enough through the smoke.
