D&D 5E EB's ToEE and RttToEE Campaign - IC

Gwylla tries to get to the end of the tunnel in time to help, but the muck pulls at her skirts slowing her down. Emmyr emerges from the tunnel ready to fight as he watches poor Templeton scratch his flint and steel to get a torch lit enough for him to fight in the almost complete blackness. The dwarf lets both hiss handaxe fly, but had to angle one up to avoid the paladin and it flies wide of its mark, the other clipping the side of the creature's head. Meanwhile a dagger from the rogue takes and bounces off the moving shield of the paladin, deflecting back to towards the rogue to land near his feet.

Rana grumbles as she continues forward, and Bekah is almost in tears as she crawls through the mud.

Zanword keeps his shield between him and the ghouls as he reaches a hand towards Aridha. He feels the cool sensation of magic pass through him as Beory helps heal his friend. With its back towards the druid the ghoul tries again and again to claw the paladin into submission, not ready for the huge dire wolf to come up from the floor and nearly tackling the undead minion. The ghost white wolf is large and blue-eyed, with what looks like a large spot of blood on its forehead. Its jaws latch onto the things leg and worry it nearly apart.

Hexiros had edged his way as far from the tunnel as he could to let the others get out, but he felt he still need to get some space between himself and these foul creatures. He thrusts and swipes at the last ghoul fighting as he circles it slowly.

Zanword relaxes somewhat when he sees Aridha up and about. And with vengeance. He is still taken aback by her monster forms, but that is something to explore at the future time. Like when there aren't undead trying to eat them around.

Still, there is job to finish and his cutlass cuts deep into the monster in front of him.

“Guid girl!” Emmyr shouted as Aridha turned into a giant wolf and bit the ghoul in half. “Though ye moight ‘ave a stomach ache later.”

The dwarf danced passed Zanward to get to the remaining ghoul, drawing his other sword. He slashed twice at the undead monster.

As the dire wolf tramples one of the ghouls, Zanword and Emmyr dispatch the other with little effort. The din of battle drops as silence falls over the group.

Aridha growls and turns her head this way and that, sniffing at the dank, oppressive air. Her thick, stubby claws click on the flagstones as she moves over to give the humans in the group a little more space to move.

Moving next to Aridha, keeping her flank safe, Zanword puts down the cutlass and takes one of the harpoons from his back. As soon as he spots one of the creatures, the harpoon flies away impaling it to the wall.

Gwylla gets out of the muddy tunnel and tries to clean herself off a bit.

Rana and Bekha follow Gwylla out of the tunnel as Zanword turns the corner and impales the limp ghoul as it tries to get away.

Emmyr and Hexiros step up and casts about, but see no sign of any other creatures. Templeton retrieves his dagger and his torch shows the old woman the bodies of the two dead ghouls, and the bloody spot on the white direwolves forehead. "What happen here? Did one of these creatures bite Aridha?"

She looks about at the ground. "Cairn-eaters, and is that her blood there? Bah! No matter. We need to burn these bodies, and the blood. We can't leave a drop if there are anymore of these things about. Find something we can mop this up with and then burn it all."

A confused Bekha looks to the others as if they may know what the old witch is talking about.

Gwylla checks out the room to see if there is any cloth to mop up the blood with.
