Explore the lands of Eberron in this campaign sourcebook for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.

This book provides everything players and Dungeon Masters need to play Dungeons & Dragons in Eberron—a war-torn world filled with magic-fueled technology, airships and lightning trains, where noir-inspired mystery meets swashbuckling adventure. Will Eberron enter a prosperous new age or will the shadow of war descend once again?

• Dive straight into your pulp adventures with easy-to-use locations, complete with maps of floating castles, skyscrapers, and more.

• Explore Sharn, a city of skyscrapers, airships, and noirish intrigue and a crossroads for the world’s war-ravaged peoples.

• Include a campaign for characters venturing into the Mournland, a mist-cloaked, corpse-littered land twisted by magic.

• Meld magic and invention to craft objects of wonder as an artificer—the first official class to be released for fifth edition D&D since the Player’s Handbook.

• Flesh out your characters with a new D&D game element called a group patron—a background for your whole party.

• Explore 16 new race/subrace options including dragonmarks, which magically transform certain members of the races in the Player’s Handbook.

• Confront horrific monsters born from the world’s devastating wars.

There is an alternate cover for game stores:

WotC's Jeremy Crawford confirmed that "The book incorporates the material in "Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron" and adds a whole lot more."

WotC providing an incentive to buy local from a dedicated hobby shop still doesn't seem to qualify as a huge mark-up conspiracy.

Theres a few game stores in my area but I rarely buy anything from them. I dont play at any, from what Ive heard the gamers there can be surly and not very welcoming to new players, and it seems a younger crowd. Funny that WotC would use gaming stores to target a younger crowd with less disposable income to spend on an exclusive product instead of the older generation of players such as myself with more money who buys mostly online. I play at home with a select group of friends so I dont feel the need to support any of the local stores.

I don't play in the store either, to be honest: but the whipper-snappers do, and I want to support that.

I would too if there was some incentive for me to, a discount or a rewards program but theres none of that, just full MSRP. I was going to buy some minis at one and they wouldnt accept my credit card unless it was over $10. That turned me off completely to that store and Ive not been back since.

My game includes a House Cannith member whose parents were involved in the construction of the warforged, a Gatekeeper who is following up on a daelkyr that is trapped beneath Cyre/Valenar/the Talenta Plains/Darguun, a warforged juggernaut whose fellow warband members have all gone to the Mournlands in service to LoB, and a quad of PCs that were at the final battle in Cyre at what became the Fields of Ruin when the Day of Mourning cataclysm occurred-- one of whom acquired an aberrant dragonmark when the explosion went off and they discovered they could now manipulate time.

Putting all these different character backgrounds together resulted in my decisions on the reason for the Day of Mourning, who the Lord of Blades is, what the daelkyr is doing, and why all the bodies of the warriors at the Fields of Ruin have not decayed. It's all going to result in the possibility of a campaign ending that will seem derivative of Avengers: Endgame (if the aberrant chronomancer decides to try and use his abilities to send the parties back in time to stop House Cannith patriarch Sterrin d'Cannith from becoming the LoB and causing the DoM), but truth be told I had this plotline on the docket earlier in the winter before the movie got released. So if my players complain about me ripping off Marvel, I'll just tell them to bite me. ;)
Yeah, similar situation for me. The party includes a former House Cannith crafter, a cleric and paladin of the Silver Flame, and a warforged bonded to a docent who used to be the head of the ancient Giant empire's secret police (long story).

Their journey in pursuit of a rogue Cannith artificer who was tracking down the origins of the Mournland led to me deciding exactly how it happened in my game, along with the Lord of Blades's motivations and how the Daelkyr come into it, which is going to be part 2 of the campaign.

I love the way the setting allows and encourages this sort of thing - that we've probably come up with very different explanations for all this, but they're still perfectly valid Eberron campaigns, and nobody's going to publish a novel or adventure that says "Well, actually, it happened like this."

Seems the alternative cover is only for the friendly local game store, which is a nice way to get more patronage into your local community, and so, I will be visiting mine shortly to pre-order.

From the Adventurer's League:

An alternative art cover with a distinctive design and soft-touch finish is available exclusively in game stores on November 19, 2019.
