I recently joined a facebook group named “RPG Worldbuilders Visual Inspiration and Prompts”. What I’ve seen there triggered again my lust for writing.
So I started a new series of posts, based on real places in our world, and what would they mean in an OSR dungeonverse.

Often had this thought with various natural features.

There's a valley in Russia where the CO can kill you, the Crystal Caves in Mexico, that mesa in Venezuela etc.

What do you mean by CO (carbone monoxyde?)

Yeah there's a literal death valley in Kamchatka where the air can kill you.

There's a real nasty place in Ethiopia as well. Sulphur, acid water etc. Looks like sci fi location. Can't remember the name.
