That's a good sign the Wild Soul Barbarian made the cut from Unearthed Arcana, while an interesting idea it was a very niche idea and very much a hard sell for a Barbarian subclass. That might be a good sign for the Astral Monk and the Swarmkeeper Ranger making the cut.

I'm pretty sure WotC has already said that every subclass they've tested in UA over the past year or so has made it in except for the psionic wizard and maybe one other?

I liked the warlock, I can see it have a lot of story and roleplay involved. I would think many people would take the ring over something larger that may get stolen though.

I think they've only outright said Psionic Wizard and Onomancy Wizard as being rejected. But they've also said something about looking for a certain threshold of approval too, and I felt that the more niche subclasses might fall below that.

Obviously this forum is not a good sampling of overall approval, but a lot of people here disapproved of the Wild Soul Barbarian back when it was in UA giving me the impression that it wasn't going to make the threshold.

They've stated the number of new Subclasses, and it happens to be the same number of tested UA Subclasses minus two. So it looks like everything aside from the Onomancer and Psion made it in, plus the Magic reprints and the Bladesinger.

Not happy with the wild magic barbarian. Make the d3 into a d4 (less hassle), and instead of "save or take no damage", I would have been much happier if it had been "save or take half damage". Why not go that route? Especially when the damage is so much lower? It's also the crux of being a wild magic barbarian. Just seems pointless to be raging and most of your enemies have decent Dex and Con saves. It says "subject to change" so I'm really hoping these things are what get changed. If not the d3 to d4, at least the "save or take half".
