Teens in Space Wins Best RPG Origins Award

The 2020 Origins Awards have been announced, and in the role-playing game category, the winning game was Renegade Game Studios' Teens in Space.

Teens in Space uses the same system as Kids on Bikes. Renegade Game Studios has a partnership with WotC owner Hasbro, and recently announced an official Power Rangers RPG (and hinted at GI Joe, Transformers, and My Little Pony).

The Origins Awards cover a range of tabletop gaming categories, including board games, card games, and more. You can see all of this year's winners here.

Never heard of it. Looked at the winners and again I don't really think some of these awards for the industry are really relative to what is actually being purchased or the best products. Contrast paints I do agree with however, they were a great product that sold well. This is just my opinion.

huh really? I would not have guessed that. At least for me Pathfinder 2, Alien, and the Expanse ranked higher on my list of RPGs.

Yeah my vote would be for PF2 but I'm biased as that is the one I play most.

I'm also not an industry analyst or well versed in the sales numbers of the winners of the origin awards.

I'd be interested to know how the winners are determined though.

Edit: Nevermind I read into it some more and learned how the Origins Awards work.

Congratulation to them for winning.

Never heard of "Teens in Space" and not read the details yet, but taking a punt that it is from the same team that did "Kids on Bikes" which did pretty well with new players.
