I've never understood pre-orders for digital stuff.

It makes sense if you get a pre-order discount. If not, then it is utterly pointless.

D&D Beyond normally gives a few perks for preorders such as character frames or backgrounds, or new "skins" for the dice roller.

I preordered the book at my LGS (EU) a couple of weeks ago and at that time they told me the release date had been postponed by 10 days. Reading the title, I was afraid there was an additional delay but it looks like that's not the case

The D&D Beyond version just went to preorder. At least it did for me.
