2021 RPG and Gaming Resolutions?

Doors and Corners
  • To stop buying new RPGs. I always... ALWAYS gravitate back to one of three systems: Savage Worlds, D&D (currently 5e) and 2d20. Whenever I buy another RPG system, it inevitably becomes a waste of money.
  • Stop buying new genres for the games systems I enjoy. Savage Worlds is my biggest weakness here with their awesome boxed sets. I'm going to TRY to cut back. (Right after Pathfinder for Savage Worlds. Yeah. Right after that.)

Build terrain
Stop buying game worlds and adventures from anyone but tiny presses (maybe WotC), as I have more than I can possibly use (unless I get a job or win money or something)
Publish 1-3 Kickstarter PDFs and more on Drivethru
Find a way to keep a campaign going (lost two of five players, got two, lost one, etc......) with my son, niece, and her friend and.....
Paint minis, I have so many minis
Figure out how to really use Foundry (and hopefully not buy Talespire, but that is tempting)
Keep my site and YouTube channel active this year

Bonus:
Play a lot more boardgames

1) Spend more time as a player.
Between the pandemic, the end of any options to play in the "shop games", & the destruction of my Sunday group, I've only gotten to spend about 9 sessions on the PC side of the screen here in 2020.
Meanwhile I've been continuously DMing for my Thur. group for 3+ years.
If I don't get some PC time here in 2021 my Gaming Gyro will become unbalanced. When that happens it'll have increasingly bad effects on my DMing....

2) Paint minis, build some terrain.
Not sure what exactly. Couple of ideas floating around in my head. Several ideas involving an entire town....

3) I really want a 3d printer of some sort.

4) Paint more minis for various miniature wargames. (40k/Sigmar/WWI-III)
I've got plenty of stuff that needs painting as I buy/build/play faster than I paint. I'll see if I can finish more models in '21 than I did this past year (350 models, mostly a goblin army)

5) ?

About to start Rangers of Shadow Deep in roll20. I find TTS really clunky.
I've heard that about it, never tried it myself though.
But one of my friends uses it to play Warhammer: Age of Sigmar with Skaven vs a college buddy of his. So I know it can be used for miniature wargaming. I guess it's better than nothing??? Certainly better than solo gaming.

Spend at least 15 minutes prepping a day, at least three times a week. Thanks to work and school, we frequently go several weeks between sessions, which makes it easy to not feel pressured to prep . . . and then Game Day hits.

I would also like to be a player, but in my small town that is easier said than done.

Oh, yeah. I guess my number 3 would be sorta like this. I'd recently gone through my harddrive to organize my RPG stuff. I honestly and literally have enough adventures that it would take me 10+ years of 2-3 hour weekly sessions to run them all. Sooo...

Stop buying/collecting adventures.

I like to read adventures just to get ideas but not long ones haha. I really enjoy reading the short ones from all the old magazines. Just for fun.
