It's true. More than one person has said that they don't like the chimera, and it's one of my favourite pieces here. To each their own. I mean, I personally think that 90% of "classic" D&D monster art is terrible, so what do I know?

I also don't tend to like "cartoony" art in D&D, and yet I still like Tony DiTerlizzi from later 2e, and I generally like Wayne Reynolds from 3.5 and Pathfinder. (I suspect that what those two have in common other than being cartoony is what I like about them, which would be the level of little details they add to their work. It's busy, but in a fun way, y'know?)

That's a lot of words to not have any punctuation.

You're criticizing Level Up for... what? Taking a different approach to 5e? Doing monsters a little differently and using different art?

I don't get your point. Use the monsters in Level Up or don't. Use Sandy Peterson's versions or don't. Use Level Up or don't. The choice is, and always has been yours. In the meantime, stop crapping on something because it's not your version of it.
Chill dude. He's not criticizing, he's asking questions. Also, @Lefi2017 is from Germany, and English isn't likely his native language.

What I love most about all of this fantastic art is the variety of styles. The best piece, IMO, is the aboleth . . . it's both terrifying and off-setting with those three-eyes above the sharky maw . . . .

No, the art is great for the most part 1-2 pies just don't appeal to me, but that is just my taste in art which is as we know is subjective but like it, for the most part, thee Aboleth from Kim Van Deun amazing art love it! Not bashing anything, I was really just worried about the Monster stat block thing (and yes they are compatible which is super great). Love the Desert Traving Tiefling very cool really want to see where they go.
