They did something similar with Tegel Mansion 5E where none of the sales could go to Judge Guild Games. Frog God Games made it that any sales/profits made from that could ONLY be used towards fulfilling the City State of the Invincible Overlord kickstarter, which if IIRC, is still unfulfilled to this day.

Here's one from the Kickstarter updates. (Unfortunately, this was posted after the Kickstarter ended and we were waiting on delivery.) The book is very large, so in order read the left page, you'd have to turn the book 90 degrees, which would mean that if you are sitting at a table, the page would actually fold away from you, so in order to see it you would either have to prop it up or stand up and lean over. (And if you prop it up, the page would likely fall over.)

Ya know, truth be told - if the modules use this format - that would in some ways be easier to DM out of than if it was laid out in portrait mode. Yes you'd need to find a way of propping the left half up (easy) and of preventing the pages from falling down (a simple hand-clamp will do), but the long narrow footprint would then fit and work much better behind a DM screen where space can often be at a premium.

The real headache would be if one has to flip pages between the maps and the write-ups. Were this the case I think I'd just photocopy the maps and keep them separate.

Thanks for finding this, but the resolution is so small it is really hard to see just how small the type is. Still, it gives me the idea so it is appreciated. I doubt I'll buy anything like it...

I don't know that it would be very easy to prop the left side up - especially when you get further into the book - it's very, very heavy.

(Not that you couldn't, but you'd need a LOT of support. So much, in fact, that you'd probably obscure your players.

) Also - using a hand clamp on a collector's item is blasphemy!!! One use and you go from Near Mint condition to Good. shudder

I'm behind a DM screen anyway - the book won't make any difference to whether I can see the players or not.

Propping it up would be easy enough - I've done similar before.

If I get a book like that it's with intent of using it, not treating it like it's made of glass. If I'm that concerned about collectibility I'd get a second copy for only that purpose.
