Ahhh. Just different meanings for the category "adult."

Actually, here is Australia "adult" would generally be taken to mean porn too. But our classification system is a letters and numbers thing rather than specific words so even porn isn't officially designated "Adult." Cannot for the life of me remember what any of the ratings codes actually are...

Heck I was just comparing it to other Netflix stuff. Russian Doll which seems pretty much on par didn’t get an Adult rating. Nor did Punisher which is a lot more graphic.

Just stuck out in my mind.

Russian Doll was "adult?" Hmm. Very odd. I mean there's smoking (so much smoking), drinking, and swearing. But, honestly, nowadays, the only odd thing there is the smoking.
Punisher, now that I agree was pretty graphic and deserving of an MA(15+) or even an R(18+) rating. I checked up the Aus. ratings system since my last post.

I honestly think that the rating any show ever gets depends very much on whoever happens to do the rating. Or what particular bugbear is in the news that week. Or what direction the wind was blowing at the time. It's kinda like the CR system, but for film/TV.

I am super surprised at all the positive comments. I have almost finished it and I am very unimpressed. CGI is bad. The lead actor is terrible and after he regains his tools the plot kind of stalls. All in all a pretty big miss.

I really liked it! There were a couple plot stumbles, but so? I still enjoyed it. It was cast very, very well, too. Death and Sandman were both played perfectly, I thought.

That was my thinking too. It's not like there was terribly graphic violence, or graphic sex scenes. Certainly no more graphic than a lot of R movies. But, I think that Netflix doesn't really have that rating system. It just sort of stuck out in my mind.
