I made this a while back.. I haven't had a chance to get any proper feedback from any players on it, unfortunately...
But! I made it based on the "Final Fantasy" Dragoon job, of course, but I used the Final Fantasy XI version. I've seen folks ask for a fairly balanced version of the class, and this is the best I could think of.
- The class starts with the standard Jump proficiency and has two enhanced versions at later levels.
- The class may eventually become a Grand Master with polearms, spears, and lances only - but at a much slower advancement rate than standard Fighters.
- The class gains a sort of 'aura of protection' against dragons at a later level that gives bonuses against dragons they fight against.
- Finally, the class is able to gain a dragon companion at an extremely high level... if they complete a quest.
Update 9/23/16
- Adjusted wording for Enhanced & Supreme Jumping in a few spots
- Penalty for normal failed roll on Enhanced & Supreme Jumping abilities now is equal to half of the Dragoon's level
- 'Roll of 20' is now listed as 'Critical Failure' for failing Endurance checks on jumps; penalty time remains one turn for Enhanced and double time for Supreme
Update 9/27/16
- Jump attacks occur on the next round after initiated, going on the Dragoon's base initiative. Essentially, Jump occurs on first round, Attack occurs on next round.
