D&D 5E D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

The original two book boxed set for Spelljammer totalled about 192 pages as well. It had a lot of cardboard sheets (common for the time) and a couple maps, too.

Thanks...yeah I figured that out after I did a bit of post-panic-post research LOL

D&D 5E D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

Wait....$150??? I thought the slipcase set was less. Okay need to research. EDIT: Comprehension failure on my part. $70. Okay then. I can totally understand how this would be a tough sell overall, but I am in the crowd that was ready to fork out $150 for three books if they were full size...

D&D 5E D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

Looks like the set is $50* for three books, slipcase, map and screen.....good price for me! (I don't do minis). True on that being the era of settings, though. I was in to Spelljammer, Planescape, Dark Sun, and Ravenloft but I did not go anywhere near Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk or Birthright...

D&D 5E D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

I'm running a 5E campaign right now using the 2E Spelljammer books so going to be really interesting to see how the setting changes. Either way....super excited for this. I wonder if the lack of excitement for the couple others posting here so far is because they either have their "sweet...

The Starfinder Society and the Future of the Starfinder Galaxy

Hey just gonna throw this out: Starfinder is an amazing setting, but I think it would be much better paired with a system, like, say, Savage Worlds (hint hint). Pinnacle please get the license to Savage up Starfinder!

Press [Chaosium] Free "PDF" announced for Chaosium's clay tablet cuneiform edition of RuneQuest

I'd buy it, but I bet the shipping fees alone would be killer.

News Digest for the Week of April 1

That is a lot of legitimately accurate not-April-One news. Even the NuTSR stuff, which had me going for a moment before I realized you were serious.

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Look, I have a ten year old son at home who is dying to play this book just from the images. I started the hobby when I was ten, and I think I'd have been really excited at a product like this. For some people, the homelife was pretty bad, and some humor is kind of vital to being able to relax...

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

A new book updating Sigil and Planescape to 5E would be awesome, but I have to admit a lot of stuff on DMsGuild does that really well right now (but still, after the new Ravenloft, its hard not to want a new Planescape!) Still, I am much more excited for new settings and new concepts these...

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Well, D&D is supposed to appeal to a broad spectrum of ages and peoples. It's okay for it to have a book that isn't explicitly grimdark.

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

These anthologies are much needed for my games, as I do not have the time to invest as DM in 250+ page giant campaigns, and the short form scenario is much easier for me to integrate into my own setting.

    Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer

Honestly, the last movie would have worked if they had done better at coordinating the setup in Force Awakens and Last Jedi. Imagine if the second movie took some time to foreshadow Palpatine.... It was the abruptness of the reveal in RoS as well as the tonal inconsistency in TLJ that threw...

    Strange New Worlds trailer

All of this looks good to me, and is the reason I finally caved and got the Paramount+ subscription. (Okay, this and Halo)

My Six Favorite Pieces of the TTRPGs For Trans Rights In Texas Bundle

Bought it. It's a great deal, and glad to have some way to support the cause. I live next door to Texas (I'm in NM) and am frankly overwhelmed at how far back they're trying to roll social progress and the right to human dignity over there. (and I'll note, a lot of Texans, including most all of...

ICv2's Latest RPG Chart: Pathfinder Up, Fallout Arrives

Glad to see Pathfinder up there, and Call of Cthulhu. Surprised by Fallout only because while I snagged it, it was not being stocked by the local FLGS's otherwise that I could tell, so I thought my interest was a fluke...but its a great game, either way. An earlier post suggested WotC ought to...

Are Video Games Ruining Your Role-playing?

Yeah this happens to me, and not just with West End, seen it with the D20/Saga version of Star Wars and the Fantasy Flight versions as well: the GM inevitably has a highly specific (and usually alternative universe view with head cannon mixed in) take on a very specific flavor of Star Wars that...

D&D General Playing D&D without combat

Check out GURPS sometime. It has far and away some of the most elaborate rules on combat, and a hefty section along the order of 90+ pages in the Campaign book on running realistic battles, and operates in turns that are in 1 second increments. When you read the rules, you will think, "this is a...
