D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana Today: Giant Themed Class Options and Feats

How is this different from the current allocation of feats? Whether a take unrelated feats, or feats that have a link, doesn't change the frequency of customization. Also, I am not talking about only having feat chains, so they would be strictly an option for those who want them. If you...

D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana Today: Giant Themed Class Options and Feats

OK, so it seems the issue was how they were created in 3e and less the concept of them. I too like the idea of feats or feat chains to customize characters over multiclassing.

D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana Today: Giant Themed Class Options and Feats

So two things I see from your response: It is not an apples to apples comparison as feats are so different (between 3e & 5e) It seems it is less the concept of feat chains than it was the implementation of them?

D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana Today: Giant Themed Class Options and Feats

Why? I never played 3e and have no experience with feat chains. I don't see the downside if it is an option, but not every feat. I like the idea of a bunch of general feats, then a few feat chains that can reinforce a theme. I just don't see the issue with not having it as an option.

D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana Today: Giant Themed Class Options and Feats

Just a question as I skipped 3e, what is wrong with feat chains in your opinion? I personally like the idea, as long as it is only a portion of the feats. I think having a series of feats that reinforce a concept, if you want to, sounds awesome. Again, as long as there are feat options that...

D&D 5E Let’s Read Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse.

A spell list is just a bunch of strange words unless you know what they do. That is not inspiring to most and I will generally always take functionality over inspiration in my stat block anytime. Besides, WotC are mostly leaving the flavorful / inspiring spells, IMO, in the stat blocks. They are...

D&D 5E Let’s Read Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse.

Though I would prefer a slightly different version than what they are doing, I think it is hard to argue that the new format is not easier to run than the old format. Having relevant things to do right there in the statblock, rather than having to look them up, is generally a...

D&D General Building a better Tiamat

Found this image of a 3d printed dragon head and I like the horns as a basis for Tiamat's red head:

Didn't @Mike Myler do that already?

D&D General Vecna and Kas and the Book of Vile Darkness. WorC lore you should know.

They do mention that in 4e he became a god and you could fight his cultists rather him directly. But I agree that it seems like he has lost the status in the current 5e lore

Cosmic Deity power levels in 5E...

Absolutely, but 4e Demogorgon was pretty similar to 3e Demogorgon (just brighter as UK pointed out) 3e 4e I must admit that, though I miss the mandrill heads, I do like the 5e art:

Of course Orcus is supposed to have a bloated, white, decaying body. At least according to my 1e MM! ;)
