Or it could be just as the review says: His review copy just recently arrived and it's just a coincidence.

OGL So how do we respond?

This is me. And I suspect the great majority of WotC customers. Changing, deleting, etc. won't impact ... say... 90-99% of WotC customers.

What games are you playing during the holidays

Since I was on Call to the Hospital on Christmas, my daughter and I sat and played board and card games: Phase 10, Scrabble, Forbidden Island, Frog Juice, Moose in the House, Castle Panic and Yahtzee. All are short and easy to play and was some of the most fun I've had in a while.

Mongoose is Looking for a Full-time Brand Manager

@Mongoose_Matt , you just keep selling me on Mongoose! Now I gotta go buy a couple more books from you! Curses! ;)

    GM Confessional

^this. I have a VERY hard time killing PCs. Usually, it's the player who goes: "I should be dead." or some such that triggers the PC's death. I don't care about rules when I'm running the game. I get close most of the time. But I refuse to interrupt the game to look something up. Which might...

    State of the Mongoose 2022

I bought the Core 2022 and High Guard a few days ago strictly because of how you're treating your employees and I wanted to support you.

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

Yeah, I think that it's quite possible to play in settings with lots of different races. I once ran a campaign that took place on a Nexus World where lots of races from lots of different worlds came together. Kind of a Well of Souls type deal. It was a blast.

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

Only if you assume that I'm not the cook at the restaurant. Which I am in this case. Wow. You've really stretched that one, didn't you? Ok. Yeah. If playing an elf instead of a warforged would endanger your health, I'd let you play one. LOL. Because it is. Why? Because the others who showed...

    Deleted. Argumentative for no reason.

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

Here's how I typically look for a game over at startplaying.games: I look at the system. I look at the description of the game. I think... hmm, is this something I'd like to play in? And then I choose yay or nay. I do not look at the system, look at the description of the game and go, hmmm...

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

Fortunately, I play with real people and not imaginary friends. I really think that that particular player would be much better served finding a group that meshes better with their playstyle than trying to alter the play of a group to fit them. There's just too many games out there that...

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

Look. I'm not beating them with a stick and calling them names. Snatching their books from their hands and grinding their dice under my boot. I'm just setting the parameters of the game I'm willing to run. It's a simple as that. Them showing up in no way dictates what I can and cannot run. Just...

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

Noooo, I did the work and this is the game I'm running. That guy, Hussar, right over there is running the game you'd like. So you'd be better served sitting at his table. "I showed up to your game so you have to do what I say." Bleh. And, yes, I noticed you so blissfully skipped the part that...

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

The fact that a player dragged themselves into my game entitles them to exactly nothing.

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

Because I'm a living, breathing customer as well who does the lion's share of work for the campaign and he/she doesn't trump me. A player who puts himself over others isn't a player the hobby really needs. And it's not what I'm serving. It's not what I said I'd serve. On top of which, I'm...

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

LoL. It's like Del Taco in Los Angeles. Chicken strips, tacos, french fries, burritos and hamburgers all on the same menu. Freaked me out first time I saw it! Sometimes that's tasty to mix and match!

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

This is usually my baseline as well. But I make sure that's known before someone sits down at my "table." I'm the same way with other games. By keeping things at the PHB (or Corebook or whatever), it makes it easier for me and, sometimes, removes some decision paralysis from the players.

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

I guess where I'm failing to understand arguments is when "the Player goes and finds another game" is a bad thing. I think it's a very good thing! That way everybody gets what they want or, at least, doesn't have to get something they don't.

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

As am I. I'm just not hip on the whole "the DM must accommodate." Part of a reasonable compromise is: We find other people to play with and there's no hard feeling.s As a player, I've gone to games where I didn't like something about it. Sometimes it's race selection. Sometimes other things. I...
