D&D General One Piece of Art VIII (People): What Piece of D&D Art Inspired You to Love a D&D Personage?

I think it's safe to say that there is a lot of double sided tape doing heavy lifting in this picture. That is a very low cut top...

Player-driven campaigns and developing strong stories

I use a couple of different methods to achieve more player driven plots. Sandbox settings give the players space to make decisions. But I've found that isn't much use until a campaign has been going for a while. I've never had a player who, straight out of the gate, would be that proactive...

D&D General Favorite villains from your games

My last campaign had a wizard called Ferridoon. He was a traitor who helped the BBEG defeat PCs army at the start of the campaign. He wasn't meant to live but somehow survived the first 2 encounters with the PCs. And they hated him. To make it worse he kept trying to do deals with the PCs to...

D&D General How do you picture your D&D game in your mind?

That's a great character concept. Would definitely play.

D&D General How do you picture your D&D game in your mind?

To be honest - it changes from game to game. From character to character. Even session to session. Comes down to my mood, what I've watched recently, what other people in the game are describing their characters as looking like, style and genre of the game. Although I rarely picture anyone as...

    Girls Who Don't D&D

I strongly suspect they're all trained actors. But I am also envious of their lovely speaking voices.

Unrelated aside: my avatar there on the left, that's me sitting in the Green Dragon in Hobbiton about 5 years ago.

Ah yes! The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. A much more interesting take.

What do you think of the post-Endgame Marvel movies? [[the mega poll!]]

Not that I noticed. Again, another too busy movie shoe-horning in too much stuff. I like Torg, Valkyrie, and the Guardians of the Galaxy but they got way too much screen time for no noticeable benefit.

What do you think of the post-Endgame Marvel movies? [[the mega poll!]]

I agree that those are probably the reasons why they put Riri in the movie. I think they made a mistake doing it. Her back story could have easily been done in the TV series.* I mean, it's not complicated: She's a tech genius. Unlike Stark, Riri wasn't born with a silver spoon and has to work...

    Girls Who Don't D&D

NZ: 5 sheep/person. Australia: 3 sheep/person. (approximate numbers.) NZ used to have many more sheep back in ye olden days. But in the last few decades a lot of agriculture has moved into dairy. Or so I've been told. edit: Google tells me there was an increase in dairy production of 1.8%...

D&D General Just Eat the Dang Fruit

And this brings up the topic of the GM meta-gaming. If the GM is meta-gaming they shouldn't whinge when the players do it back at them.

What do you think of the post-Endgame Marvel movies? [[the mega poll!]]

I get that they wanted to introduce the character. But they dedicated, what, 30 - 45 minutes of their runtime to it? In a movie where they also had to introduce Namor and the whole of Atlantis. Plus farewell Chadwick Boseman. Plus tell a damn story. Hulk, Ironman, Thor, and Cap; they all got...

What do you think of the post-Endgame Marvel movies? [[the mega poll!]]

I agree that the world building in WF was good. The production design was lovely. Really enjoyed the look of Atlantis. Where it failed was with the plot. They missed out by not using the Contessa as the villain who manipulated the events from behind the scenes. The whole Riri Williams sub-plot...

D&D General Just Eat the Dang Fruit

It really is a play style thing. For myself, my character will eat the fruit unless there's an obvious reason not too. But I like to RP from my character's perspective. The old "what would they do, given what they know?" But for those who play the game more as a game... I totally get that...

What do you think of the post-Endgame Marvel movies? [[the mega poll!]]

It's not a fun watch. It should come with trigger warnings for depression, self-harm, and implied physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. I totally get why someone would not enjoy it. But it is a perfect movie. Not a wasted shot or line of dialogue. The actors, all of them even the ones with...

What do you think of the post-Endgame Marvel movies? [[the mega poll!]]

It's one of the best of the Marvel movies. It, Black Panther and Ragnarok are the 3 best for me. All different in their own ways. All good movies. But perfect? None of them are perfect. There's not many perfect movies. Although I saw The Banshees of Inisherin just last night. That is a perfect...
