    Halloween Horror: Fear, Not Trauma

Actually, simply knowing that safety tools are in place could give some players the incentive to join a game and maybe even try topics they might be sensitive towards. Oh gods, I hope I am wording this correctly... If you have the option of holding up an x-card and "get out" of the ride at any...

I own the Corpus Malicious and it's certainly useful.

    D&D 5E Cubicle 7 Shares Victoriana’s New Cover

Oh, I like this. The heroine on the right reminds me of Vanessa Ives from Penny Dreadful, my favourite character on that show .The gentleman to her right appears to be dark-skinned so I reckon the setting will be a bit more advanced socially than our real-world Victorian age...? Can someone...

D&D 5E Is Paladine Bahamut? Is Takhisis Tiamat? Fizban's Treasury Might Reveal The Answer!

Sort of. He'd figured out that the picts had been in league with some of the beasts of the wilderness because their shaman knew the primal language once shared by both men and beasts. He'd once picked up this rune and was drawing it to keep the creatures from following him. Happened in " Beyond...

D&D 5E Is Paladine Bahamut? Is Takhisis Tiamat? Fizban's Treasury Might Reveal The Answer!

Hm...I like the idea of draconic avatars, Since M:TG is now part of the D&D cosmology, I might introduce an avatar of Nicol Bolas into my world.

RPG Crowdfunding News – HYPERBOREA, GURPS, The Drowned War, and more

Certainly. It's not my game of choice due to it being too crunchy for my tastes, but the system is solid and the books are well-researched and decently written.

TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

That is a) a great apology and b) really good to know. Thanks for posting it.

TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

The myopia here is well and truly breathtaking. First off, WotC doesn't give a rat's behind about them. If they really cared about potential competitors they would have nipped the OSR in the bud ages ago. Someone is overestimating the new TSR's importance. There are a ton of OSR companies out...

D&D 5E Monster Manual Expanded III HARDCOVER/PoD is FINALLY OUT! Get it now from the DM's Guild!

I can't wait to give you some of my hard-earned money! Absolutely love your two previous books. Also, I must say that adding the proficiency bonus is a godsent as it makes customizing and advancing creatures a doozy.

    'Origin' of Your User Name

It's the opposite to the somewhat apocryphal true big bad of Kentaro Miura's Berserk universe, the Idea of Evil. The Idea of Evil sprang into being because mankind desired a reason for its misery and the universe provided them one. The Idea of Good would then be the opposite, the hope that evil...

D&D 5E Ravenloft: Your custom domains

Since the new book encourages DMs to build their own custom domains, I thought...why not a thread dedicated to those? I'll start with the custom domain I'm working on, something inspired by Dark Souls. Danueth Deathless Domain of Twilight and Stagnation Darklord: First Lord...

D&D General The goal of your Ravenloft campaign

I'd probably have the characters associated withthe Keepers of the Feather, doing various errands and missions and coming to get to know some of the Domains. And then, slowly, reveal that the world is basically a giant stage for a group of insane puppeteers and that they are among the few who...

D&D 5E DMs Guild Ravenloft Sale Also, you definitely should get the old Van Richten's Guides (2nd Edition), they are just amazing for all the ideas and lore they contain. And let's be honest, conversions of some ideas to 5e are childishly...

There is also a Ravenloft Bestiary for 5e which I found to be quite useful.

My Favorite Parts of Van Richten’s Guide To Ravenloft

Having now read through some of the domains, my favourite is probably I'Cath. It evokes the culture it stems from without relying on clichees, it evokes the hopelessness of cosmic horror without any tentacles in sight - instead creating a sense of dread in the face of an impossible choice...

My Favorite Parts of Van Richten’s Guide To Ravenloft

Well...cough Gundar is...well, not exactly alive now, BUT... I really like the short treatises on the different flavors of horror. I especially love that they got the description of Cosmic Horror right... Whereas some authors for other systems (cough*Pathfinder*cough) make the mistake of...

D&D 5E Ravenloft: Souls of Darkness

Just reading through the new Ravenloft book, I had this idea: The setting of Dark Souls would actually make a great domain. There is already a white fog obscuring parts of the world, everything is a testament to faded glory and Lord Gwyn/The Soul of Cinder being the Darklord. His descent into...
