Payette, Idaho, seeking players 5e or OSR game

Anyone in or near Payette, Idaho that might be interested in playing in a 5th edition D&D or an old school style D&D game? I'm looking at putting together a weekly game.

Crazy rumor: Nintendo buying D&D or WotC, please debunk or confirm

As usual with posts or comments on FaceBook, this rumor was put forward without any citation. I asked the commenter to provide links to the information and was told he checked his sources and confirmed the info, no link provided. I thought it might be worth coming here to get info to counter the...

    D&D 5E Can Dragonborn play a flute?

"One time at adventurer camp." It seems likely that a type of flute suitable to their anatomy would exist. Nose flute sounds reasonable. Just make sure when buying tickets to a show you get back row seats.

    D&D 5E Designing a fantasy army in 5th

The party is very clearly in over their capabilities. Getting as much of the town population on the move to safer locations, and getting the urn away from the enemy are both essential. Both will be very difficult, especially hiding the urn since the 13th level cleric will likely be divining the...

Or better yet, www.hammeredgametables.com Mine just arrived.

D&D 5E How do you kill a 10th level character?

Everyone at the table is there to have fun playing an adventure game. If it weren't dangerous it wouldn't be called an adventure. Being nice is expected, nerfing everything takes the adventure out of it. The game is designed with the possibility of character death in it, thus adding the...

D&D 5E Splitting xp between characters of different lvls?

We let them "level" so if we needed a replacement character and there was an NPC left we could have the player that lost a character stay in the action by temporarily promoting the NPC to a PC. At least until the party got to town and a newly rolled up PC could be added.

D&D 5E Splitting xp between characters of different lvls?

I prefer an older method for dividing experience when NPCs are involved. Pack bearers count as one eighth of a character each. Simple men-at-arms count as a quarter of a character each. Other more experienced NPCs count as half a character each. It takes a tiny bit of extra math sometimes, but...

D&D 5E Potions of spells which require concentration

This makes me think bringing back the Potion Miscibility Table would be a fun idea.

D&D 5E Best disposal of body or item spell!

The idea would certainly work though it is an expensive option. At least five thousand and 50 gold to cover time, materials, labor, hiring the right assassin costs extra, etc. This is the type of thing someone has crafted for your stated purpose only if they are certain the benefit far exceeds...

D&D 5E Favorite change and thing you like better before

Favorite addition: Advantage/Disadvantage Other well liked additions: Versatile casting, spells can be used in higher slots; Bounded Accuracy; Death Save mechanic; etc. Wish was different: Speed of leveling is too fast. It works great for mini campaigns, but standard campaigns lose time to...

D&D 5E Classic or just plain brilliant adventures/modules

I'll give two thumbs up for Lesserton & Mor having played through some of it with the folks at Faster Monkey Games. I also have enjoyed my brief time playing in Barrowmaze for its take on the classic dungeon crawl.

Sounds to me as if the church has figured out a nice way to quietly maintain some influence in the courts of nobles.

Sagiro's Story Hour: Now That It's Over

Sagiro, Thank you for giving us this view into your incredible campaign. Put me down for some copies of your books. :) I know a number of poor deprived souls that they will make great gifts for, and I of course want copies for me. Meanwhile, point me to the Null Shadow info!

    D&D 5E Just a reality check.

I am. If the monsters have the increases built into their stats it will make things a bit tougher and require figuring out where their increases were placed.

    D&D 5E Just a reality check.

Despite my concerns, I do like it. My main concern is that there are things built into Basic that I personally feel should have been options and not part of the baseline of the game (Ability score increases). It is tougher to dig them out than to add them in. Other than that, I see it as a...

    D&D 5E 5e Basic Rules poll

I do not see any deal breakers, however in my opinion this is not a basic set of rules. Too many things are included that should have been options. I will be taking a red pen to it after I print it out to mark the options. Otherwise I like it.

How do you use your Dwarven Forge Gaming Tiles?

I mostly build my own dungeons/caverns. I have used them to replicate module maps, though I often have had to accept some differences between the tiles setup and the printed maps.
