I think your local Gaming Store must be not great. The only Free League game that I never saw at my store is ironically my favourite, Coriolis. Oh and in other news, their Alien game is in the top five best selling games, you don’t get there without being in a few stores.

You need nothing more than the book. Though some dark and crazy scenarios would probably work with it. For example, I think some of the Trilema adventures would work with it. There is a thriving fan-made community for it. All the supplements are free online.

You can play well enough with the core book. The GM does not need any special dice, at all, but could /should persuade players to buy a pack of stress dice each. GM screen is by reports useful but not essential. Same with the cards. Chariot the Gods is a GREAT adventure.

though I am glad you enjoyed it, as I am a co-author I should point out the Hopes Last Day isn’t really a full adventure. It was especially designed for con play.

Actually their systems only use sixes (and in some systems, like Alien ones), no there is no need for the custom dice or a number map. (Forbidden Lands is a little different with the way it adds d8, d10 and d12, but that’s rarely used and purely for retro feels). The OP can just use different...
