Call of Cthulhu, huh? Interesting idea, but it seems very unlikely that people who like role-playing games would be interested in anything based on the works of H. P. Lovecraft.
;)
The earlier version of the Lost Omens: Character Guide was not a softcover. The new version is the "special edition" cover format, but both versions are hardcover.
Yeah. My only complaint about the official statements yesterday was that they repeated the same thing Paizo did when they did the PF2E playtest, pretending that the release date for the new books could change depending on how the playtest goes. (The PF2E playtest was rocky, and the release date...
Yeah, no RPG clubs of any kind at my high school either. (This was 1983-1986.) I will say also that the whole Satanic Panic thing was regional (with some occasional exceptions like the 60 Minutes story). I played lots and lots of D&D in high school, and my parents showed no concern whatsoever...
And why such a fine distinction in the first place? Is every product going to have a different number? You'd think there'd be a few ratings they'd use over and over, like 8+, 13+, 18+ (not that I expect them to put out any 18+ material).
It's interesting that WotC has started putting suggested ages on their products. Really curious why this is 12+, but Radiant Citadel is 13+. What is it about Radiant Citadel that a 12 year-old couldn't handle? :)
Maybe it's just me, but "Dolphin Delighter" sounds like something that delights dolphins. "Delighter Dolphin" sounds more like a dolphin that delights. Either way, I'm scratching my head.
I was skimming the Monsters of Myth book the other day and became very frustrated. Most of the entries don't give you an explanation of what the creature is until four pages in.
For example, the Grogrisant entry starts on page 30, but it isn't until page 34 that you get this sentence...
I'm not sure I agree that dice "aren't cheap anymore." There are lots and lots of inexpensive dice available. There are lots of good quality Chessex sets available at very reasonable prices.
I'm confused by this article and the response. A stratagem is "a plan, scheme, or trick for surprising or deceiving an enemy." (Feel free to look it up yourself if you don't believe me.) Schemes and tricks have existed for as long as intelligent life has existed. The author of the original...
I'm intrigued by Death in Space, but confused by the somewhat vague description. What is the overlap between 2001: A Space Odyssey and Alien? Or maybe, what elements of each does this game try to emulate? People dying in space? I'm being a little silly, but I am genuinely curious. Is it like...
Hey, just FYI, your math is wrong in a couple of places. If DriveThruRPG takes 35% of your $135,000, that's $47,250 they take, not $35,000.
If you want to have $100,000 left after they take their 35%, you need to make about $153,846.
Just a note that some people (like me) don't know what "Kingdoms & Warfare" is, and the article refers to it with no explanation.
I'm guessing it's another book by Colville. Is it out now, too? Is it coming later in 2019?
In my experience, Relentless Endurance creates a fun play experience, while villains that can kill a PC with a single spell do not. So, I'm all for Relentless Endurance.
