Onyx Path Cancels LegendLore Kickstarter Partway Through Citing COVID-19

The video game industry is doing just fine... in fact it is flourishing right now. This is no surprise as we saw a similar situation during the 2008 recession. Gaming Usage Up 75 Percent Amid Coronavirus Outbreak As for the Onyx Path thing... I agree with what others have stated that this...

When Pandemic Isn't Just a Game

I've played 3 games online using Roll20 and Discord since all of this went down. It worked just fine.

Official D&D Greek-Themed 'Mythic Odysseys of Theros' Setting Coming In May

That may have actually been where I read about it.

Official D&D Greek-Themed 'Mythic Odysseys of Theros' Setting Coming In May

I need to dig around for the link/quote, but the gorgon in D&D has an interesting history. There was a miscommunication when the original Monster Manual was being put together - so we ended up with gorgons in D&D = demonic looking metallic bull that breathes poison gas - instead of medusae...

Official D&D Greek-Themed 'Mythic Odysseys of Theros' Setting Coming In May

I'm in the same boat. I haven't played Magic in years but love new settings regardless of their inspiration. One of the most perplexing and irritating things I see from certain members of the hobby are statements like - "Stop rehashing old settings and give us something new" but then when that...

Odyssey of the Dragonlords is amazing.

World Reveal of Baldur's Gate 3

To your first point - I don't get it either. I am definitely not part of the younger generation that's coming into the hobby either. I loved BG1, 2, Torment, IWD, etc... but this just looks amazing. As for the second point, I felt that the tieflings looked pretty damn cool and broke that mold...

World Reveal of Baldur's Gate 3

Yeah so that leaves things like ghasts, wights, and a few others I am not currently recalling which have sufficient intelligence and intact (or even enhanced) organs.

World Reveal of Baldur's Gate 3

Interesting... so the flesh is just a vessel, living or dead. I wonder if that is the case? Apparently the tadpole is not suffering any ill effects.

Unless you are a gnome with a chrono hopper played by Jeremy Crawford apparently!

Particularly interesting take - how would ceremorphosis affect a vampire spawn? Correct me if I am wrong, but vampire spawn are already undead (or on their way) and beholden to a vampire lord. I am nerding out in my mind thinking about a vampire lord vs. an ulitharid by the way.

I really would love to see a return to Al-Qadim and Kara-Tur (Maztica to a lesser extent).

Yes that does look good, but I passed on it for the same reasons you stated. The artwork is amazing though.

World Reveal of Baldur's Gate 3

Seriously. There was more lore packed into that opening sequence then you could shake a stick at. It was a thing of beauty. Also ceramorphosis is fucking horrifying.

Official D&D Greek-Themed 'Mythic Odysseys of Theros' Setting Coming In May

That would be cool, but as you know, Rome had a major infatuation with all things Greek, and they umm... "borrowed" so many elements of classical Hellenistic culture. It could almost be an add on to a Greek-themed book.

World Reveal of Baldur's Gate 3

I love everything about this and that opening cinematic had some deep deep deep from the dawn of time D&D lore. Githyanki + Red dragon connection? AD&D Fiend Folio. Nautiloid? Spelljammer! Love, love, love this.

Official D&D Greek-Themed 'Mythic Odysseys of Theros' Setting Coming In May

Odd timing given the recent KS fulfillment of this excellent book: Odyssey of the Dragonlords Still... if you can't already tell from my avatar I am a big fan of the mythos so I am happy about this!
