Intro: New player on the board, and to the game!

AwesomePossum -- Welcome back to the game and to ENWorld. This is by far the friendliest RPG board out there, in my opinion. However, if you guys are playing AD&D -- you might also give a gander to They are specifically an "old school" game site. They are also very open to...

    The Unusual Suspects Kickstarter Project

Yep. They changed the name. I think it was a working title, to start with. Full Disclosure: I'm one of the writers on the project.

    AD&D Campaign/Adventure Path Recommendations

I strung together the N1, the L-series and I1 into a kind of adventure path. They all took place on the same island -- I wrote up some of the I1 stuff here: mysticbull / cityofthelizard Here's a poor image of the island: mysticbull / praeder-working.png I have an svg (inkscape) of it if...

    Low-level Adventure Path

I came from 1e, so 2e was always "1e Enhanced" for me. I never took a lot of time to learn the 2e quirks -- just used the style and a bit of the rules (kits and all that). The two editions are similar enough that you can handwave it as you play (a 1e module in a 2e world).

Next year, I'm back to running AD&D

Take a look at the DCC rpg beta (Dungeon Crawl Classics). Gods (and other powerful otherwordly beings) are VERY relevant to the cleric and the wizard. They took a very interesting approach. I've found that clerics and wizards are the prime movers to assembling and organizing adventuring...

Next year, I'm back to running AD&D

I've been back in 1st edition land for a few years now, and I like it much better. I like playing 3.5, still, but I don't think I'll ever DM it again. 1e is streamlined, quick to develop, run and play. The interesting thing I found when I took my 3.5 players and threw them against 1e is the...

    Mallus Rediscovers AD&D

Welcome back to AD&D. I've been playing it again for a few years, and I was also surprised at how fast it plays -- my memory of the game is that we spent a lot of time looking up/arguing about rules. I introduced all my young 3.5 players to it and they have so far loved it. We've made a slight...

Just got Castles & Crusades--LOVE IT (hugs his copy)

I have also just started playing/running C&C. I tried to drum up interest at a local Con a few years ago, but no one bit. Now, I've made the leap from 1st edition/Basic to C&C and I like it a lot. I'm playing in an online game on Fantasy Grounds and have a couple of small games going at home and...
