The 2024 Core D&D Rulebooks Are Coming In May

What? They said they started printung this week, and we'd have it in six.....

WotC Third party, DNDBeyond and potential bad side effects.

As someone pointed out..... How is it a deal breaker not to allow filtering in a tool, when you can't automatically filter books? Set the rules, have the players follow the rules, just like if there wasn't a tool.

They can't now.... And yet it's being written. Meant to type written.

D&D 5E Quests From The Infinite Staircase Coming July 2024

I feel like they implied they aren't the old ones

D&D General 50th Anniversary WotC live panel at PAX Unplugged 2023.

Like I said, Dungeon magazine did this at least twice back in 4e (maybe 3 also?).....and they have great examples in there on how to do that. They could almost copy and paste those articles......

except it is being built now, and that won't stop because of DnDBeyond, IMO. It might stop for other reasons.....but it won't be that.

I also will note both of these are "mature, dark, themed" and were likely chosen partly for that reason. It is an area that WotC doesn't touch on much (I made the mistake of buying the book of vile darkness......).

that lack of filtering hurts my brain also. I understand the PDF thing, but agree with you on it. The API? I mean, I'd love that! Truly would love to not hand enter stuff on DnDBeyond....but I'm not sure how their back-end is set up and how much technical debt they have, so I can't rip them on...

Also, Mike, love your books, I own almost all of them.....hope you are taking this in the spirit of we just likely won't fully agree on this. My experienced players loved Grendleroot, I just got burned out before we finished (we're playing Gloomhaven on line while we all recharge our batteries...

WotC Third party, DNDBeyond and potential bad side effects.

I'm not sure why they'd do that full last list.....and we don't demand it of anyone else. I get your concerns, I really do, but some of this is just no realistic for a business to do. I mean, if they sold stuff on Foundry and there was a full character builder there, why would anyone use the...

of course, but this is true of everything in the universe. When Shard dies and gets no updates, we won't love that either (an example, no prediction here).

I agree with their concerns.....but as a selfish human who isn't perfect, I love this. I want more and more stuff in the tools I use most. It's also great for the people that get their stuff there. I mean, watching the Dungeon Dudes talk about this, they were so emotional and happy.

D&D General Dungeons of Drakkenheim & Lairs of Etharis: WotC Adds Third Party Products To D&D Beyond

edit: but I would prefer this conversation in another thread, so I'm deleting my comment....so this thread is about congratulating and talking about the new stuff on dndbeyond

that was my third thought....but maybe it's one of their gods ?

agreed. I was wrong. I'd rather the PHB came first.

D&D 5E Descent Into The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth Is The First Of Several Single Session D&D Events

I forgot they said they would make more of these....they also said the bday celebration will go into 2025, wonder what that means?

The 2024 Core D&D Rulebooks Are Coming In May

One thing they said about the MM that gave me hope....they are going to give every monster something unique, something that is theirs. Now, it won't be insane, this is WotC, but if this means monsters aren't just interchangeable statblocks with different fluff, I'm excited! Yes, that's a bit of...
