D&D 5E Curse of Strahd - DM seeks campaign ideas from the community

Greetings all - First off, I need to perform due diligence and make the following statement: TO MY THREE PLAYERS - DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER! ONLY DEVILS EXIST IN THESE PARTS.... Thank you for your understanding. OK, here is what we have going on: We are ten sessions deep into what has proven...

D&D 5E CoS - Quick question on fortunes

My players - if you happen to find this, stop reading. ----- Had our second CoS session the other night, and we got to the Madame Eva card draw. I read them their fortune, and had a thought....should I just read them Madame Eva's words? Does anyone tell the players where exactly they need to...

CURSE OF STRAHD'S Foreword By Tracy Hickman

His focus on the monster being a monster and not misunderstood, and how that relates to real life abuse, is weighty subject matter indeed. I can imagine a more business-like editor nixing the inclusion of such subject matter into a game book, so kudos to the D&D team for allowing that viewpoint...

Is TOMB OF HORRORS the Worst Adventure Of All Time?

In the article he reveals quite plainly why he hates this thing so much - running it as written caused him to lose his small number of friends for a whole year, and suffer all the effects of that which followed. That's pretty heavy stuff.

CURSE OF STRAHD: Here's The Official Announcement & Cover Image!

I am floored with excitement for this one......My formative D&D days were second edition, and Ravenloft was always the setting my friends and I favored. I'm very much liking the concept of making Barovia into it's own mini-setting (an idea I had toyed with myself if the time ever came to make my...

    New Issue of Dragon+

I've liked some of the stuff I've seen in these Dragon+ issues, but my general impression is that the trans-media approach is falling short. Trying to be all things to all people is never going to trump the fact that D&D is a tabletop RPG.

    Out of the Abyss

4 out of 5 rating for Out of the Abyss There is a lot of great content in this module from what I have read so far (all of Chapter 1 and then skimming the rest of the book). However, one thing is irking me bad here; where in the book do I find out what is generally going on? I personally know...

D&D 1E Ye Olde Ranger of Editions Past (1E-4E)

My group and I are scratching our heads at all this Ranger business. Personally, the Hunter Ranger in 5e is about the best implementation of it that I've seen. It does what it needs to do thematically, and they are absolutely invaluable for the adventuring party traveling overland distances.

    Deluxe Dungeon Master's Screen

5 out of 5 rating for Deluxe Dungeon Master's Screen I'm giving it 5 because it's a high quality product, and a great DM screen. My only personal quibble - I would have rather have had some reference on combat actions as opposed to some of the random generators, which I most likely won't use...
