Level Up (A5E) more nuanced stronghold questions

I think the part you put in italics means that if you change your stronghold from castle to temple and you got an ASI from the castle, you don't change it to the ASI of the temple. It doesn't mean that you can sell the castle, or give it to someone else, and still keep the ASI.

Level Up (A5E) more nuanced stronghold questions

I may be corrected, but I don't think that you'd keep the ASI if you give the stronghold to another character. Strongholds are just "materialized" feats, in the end: no stronghold, no goodies

WOIN What's next after the Starter Kit Quickstarter?

I hope the latest kickstarter went well, and well enough to have revived the plans to support this line of product. Are there any plans on the horizon (probably starting next year) regarding new releases for WOIN and EONS?

Level Up (A5E) Maneuvers Again: RAW, RAI and Reasonable Rulings

But unbalanced with respect to what? The only form of balance that matters IMO is between effective PC's output (and fun). I see a problem only if some players end up dominating the scene every time at the expense of the others, but otherwise it's an abstract comparison. I think this may come...

Level Up (A5E) Maneuvers Again: RAW, RAI and Reasonable Rulings

I think this is where all problems come from. This sentence just means that each maneuver has a cost in terms of action economy that is specified by the maneuver description itself. Take this one, for instance. It says "when you activate this technique". It doesn't say that you need to spend an...

WOIN Calibrating Difficulty Benchmarks to player expectations

Fail forward mechanics are great as they really keep the game going, however they require the whole group (players and DM) to get used to them.

    WOIN probabilities of success

There's a typo for the odds of DC 32 when rolling 7d6, it should be 6.1%, not 36.1%

WOIN Calibrating Difficulty Benchmarks to player expectations

On page 147 of O.L.D. 1.2 it says "If triple-sixes are rolled on the attack roll, a hit is scored regardless of the target’s Defense score. If the attack would have ordinarily hit, a critical hit occurs. A critical hit inflicts a condition..." So triple sixes do auto hit but do not auto crit...

WOIN Calibrating Difficulty Benchmarks to player expectations

Hmm, I have several things to say. The table you're using is wrong IMO for a specific reason: "If a triple-six is rolled while making an attribute check, and the check is one which succeeds, a critical success takes place. This means that an additional or extra- ordinary benefit occurs—the task...

WOIN Calibrating Difficulty Benchmarks to player expectations

That's an interesting but also somehow weird question. From an "absolute" point of view, you could remark that the typical unskilled npc normally rolls 2 or 3d6 (attribute only), which means that they have 50% odds of success for difficulty benchmarks of 7 and 10 respectively. A skilled but...

Level Up (A5E) Elite Monster Template

Following up on what should you design for (which of course is your decision!): if the idea is that a Mythic monsters is 1 monster followed by another, you could use an old trick from some videogames and other TTRPG resources (Giffyglyyphs's monster maker) and have a monster fight that...

Level Up (A5E) Elite Monster Template

That decision is up to you. However, if you want the mythic monster to count as a "double" monster, I wouldn't balance it on a 3 rounds basis, or the damage would be too high and the combat will be swingy. Besides, it wouldn't feel different from any normal monster, except that it hits way...
