    D&D 2E Infinite Elf Generator/Xp mill

Im the 2e necromancer splatbook it mentions that they would gain 1xp for digging a grave. Presumably they are allowed to use tools to do this...so that should apply to a shovel or a skeleton they control wielding a shovel. Insert massive field of animated skeletons repeatedly digging graves...

    D&D 5E [+] What can D&D 5E learn from board games?

With respect ....using Monopoly and what it offers as an example of what boardgames in general have to offer ...you might not be very familiar with modern boardgaming. How about we start by making combats in 5e actually interesting from a gamist standpoint? When my DnD character learns a new...

    How I'd fix Star Wars

If he was able to do something only because of the presence of the force....and he would not have been able to do it without the presence of the force .. he used the force. Like when I swim I use the water.

    How I'd fix Star Wars

Yea, no. I know how WW2 ended but that doesn't mean you can't tell a good WW2 story.

D&D 5E When Did 5E Peak Quality Wise?

The second definition of Quality on Mirriam-Webster is "degree of excellence". This definition incorporates objective traits like book bindings, paper stock, and proofreading. It also incorporates subjective traits such as appealing art, interesting story, and engaging mechanics. If one were...

D&D 5E When Did 5E Peak Quality Wise?

My actual answer to the OP is that 5e peaked just before they announced "No psion class because learning things is hard". That limited WotCs creative range for everything that came after.

D&D 5E When Did 5E Peak Quality Wise?

A straight line peaked when it started.

    D&D (2024) Rest Variants (DMG pg. 267)

I've never heard a good explanation on how casters only getting spells back once a week doesn't paralyze the pace of the game.

    D&D (2024) Graze on a miss questions

They even had Touch AC to try to model this more realistically in 3.X. It's no longer a thing because 5e is less concerned with that level of "realism".

    D&D (2024) Graze on a miss questions

A fire giant and his pal roll to hit two halfling opponents. Both roll and get a total of 15 to hit their opponent. Halfling A and B are identical except for B has a shield. Halfling A is barely hit but B is missed because of the extra shield bonus. Did the 2lb shield deflect the 50lb...

    D&D (2024) Graze on a miss questions

Damage on a miss/graze will always be easier to explain away than how a halflings armor or shield helped them against a fire giants warhammer.

D&D (2024) They butchered the warlock in the new packet

At you table, how much real-life-time is taken up by the party taking a short rest? At my table 80%+ of the time it's the GM saying "OK you rest. Spend HD and regain whatever you get" and play resumes after some people roll a few dice and update their HP tally sheets.

D&D (2024) They butchered the warlock in the new packet

The impact is that the less distinct each class is the blander the game becomes. I'm a player that enjoys variety and keeping things fresh. The sorcerer and wizard already overlap so much that making the warlock closer to that design and farther from something unique is not a good thing...

D&D (2024) They butchered the warlock in the new packet

I haven't read the play test, but I'm not hearing from this discussion warlocks are the same but just now have more spell slots at the same power level they had before. I guess it just boils down to difference in play styles. I've never ran or played in a session where a player request to take...

D&D (2024) They butchered the warlock in the new packet

This is literally word for word what I was going to reply. Their spell slots are their warm up act, not their headliner.
