Surprised, no. Do I wish that more of the development progress was made available to backers? Yes.

It’s a bit disappointing that the regular progress updates are restricted to their Patreons, with the backers getting very little news.

I’ve been running a campaign since March 2023 that started out as a D6 Fantasy, but subsequently morphed into a custom system over time. Still glad too see an updated version of the D6 system finally seeing the light of day. 👍🏻

An even more pertinent take on the state of current D&D is that even if you do dump 5E, don’t let that be the end of TTRPG for you. There are so, so many wonderful RPG:s out there that are worthy of your time and support and they don’t have to be simplified versions of D&D or OSR or...

I see what you mean and I certainly feel better about my pledge after seeing the video. There is bound to be a second chance when the pledge manager opens later, so don’t worry about missing out.

There’s a typo in the Spear section. ”she can use a bonus action to either make an attack with his shield or increase her Armor Class”

That’s cool and all, but the character art depicts someone that looks like she’d break a nail rather than tear an opponent a new one with her fierce set of claws. Does she have the claws on her feet? Also, A5E halflings sound like badgers! 😂

While I agree that the she is unexpectedly short, I would rather want to know how and why she has claws.

Dave Thaumavore made a video on Scum & Villainy and its hackability regarding turning it into a Star Wars RPG. I’m inclined to agree that it would be a good fit.
