    D&D (2024) 2024 PHB - A much too early review

I also think that the lack of custom backgrounds makes the Human's free second origin feat that much more impactful, and thus makes Human more appealing. Your origin feat matches your background, period. Want to pick your origin feat, play a Human.

D&D (2024) Heroes of the Borderlands

That would not augur well at all. Caves of Chaos (and really all three) should feature all three pillars.

D&D (2024) Heroes of the Borderlands

Yeah, the first thing I thought when I saw this was "well hopefully they'll make the Caverns of Chaos actually interesting and fun"

D&D General Deborah Ann Woll Teaches Jon Bernthal D&D

I mean, this was definitely an actor's answer. It makes sense not just as her own perspective but also how the game might best appeal to Jon Bernthal, an actor who absolutely understands the appeal of playing a role with flaws. I also think that it's the difference between answering why you...

Olympics Talk: A brief discussion before it goes away

I dislike synchronized swimming, but mostly because I almost drowned as a kid and I have a deathly fear of being underwater and they have their heads underwater for way too long

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew - coming Dec 2024

So, the promise of the new age of Star Wars live action content was that we'd finally get to see stuff from the larger galaxy, not tied to the overarching "Skywalker Saga". We've been getting snippets of that but this looks highly promising. I showed the trailer to my wife, who has been "meh"...

Olympics Talk: A brief discussion before it goes away

I mean, I guess I'm struggling to tell the difference between this and gymnastic floor routines, at least in terms of the physical skill and athleticism on display.

Olympics Talk: A brief discussion before it goes away

As I've said elsewhere, it's no surprise that when you gather all of the world's most physically fit people in the prime of their lives under some of the most intense pressure they'll ever feel, they're going to find a good way to blow off some steam, as it were. This goes doubly (at least!)...

Press The Arneson Estate views The Age of the Wolf as a fake Blackmoor Publication

Oh no, I have no expectation that he is responsible for any of the bad actions of Ink Bat, but I wonder if he knew anything about Suleiman or his sketchy past before taking the work.

WotC WotC Removes Digital Content Team Credits From D&D Beyond

Okay, now that entirely pointless digression has ended and the thread has become readable again, has there still not been any update or comment from D&D Beyond or WotC?

Press The Arneson Estate views The Age of the Wolf as a fake Blackmoor Publication

Here is the full design team behind the product: The Design Team Behind Blackmoor Age of the Wolf What's absolutely shocking is seeing Ari Marmell's name attached to this. It's difficult to believe someone like him would be roped in to such a dubious production...

D&D General A History of Violence: Killing in D&D

I mean, the best uses of milestone leveling (ie, not just "we finished this chapter of AP, guess it's time to level). Curse of Strahd gives (admittedly limited) advice to this effect. Leveling is tied to major accomplishments, which certainly feels (imo) more tangible and less arbitrary than...
